Yep, seems like smoke is rising in Mila webcam. The other webcam site is down, and even Mila is really show, showing just few frames. It just shows stills, even when it should be streaming cam.

The aviation code is changed from orange to red, which is highest risk. There was also strong magnitude 4.5 quake in caldera. Iceland Met Office is doing monitoring flights around the volcano to find proof about eruption.

The Iceland Met Office had the Coast Guard fly over the area today, and they saw no evidence of eruption.
No traces of gases from the air

It sounds like some of the scientists still think there is a small eruption happening under the ice, and others aren't convinced.

Thanks everybody for the links to follow this volcano...it's really fascinating.

This livestream has 3 cams and seems to be working well at the moment. direct link

Thanks for all the links and good work everybody. I did not realize how real this is. The big sister has gone from something I hardly paid any mind, to the absolute center of my attention.

Apparently, its a ongoing dust storm, the eruption has stayed under the ice.

Here are a few highlights from the IMO daily status report:

Starting at 11:18, seismic tremor was observed at 1 and 1.5 Hz. This is consistent with lava/ice
interaction...

We are currently interpreting the depth of the majority of earthquakes(5-10 km) as the depth of the base of the dyke. The dyke has propagated about 5 km to the north since yesterday.

A model to fit the GPS data suggests that the volume of magma contained within the dyke is approximately 250 million
cubic meters.

It could be 0-20 hours before lava reaches
the surface of the ice. It is also possible that the lava will not break through the ice, and the
eruption could remain subglacial.

I'm going to be glued to that live stream all day.

Nothing like the possibility of seeing one of natures most awesome fireworks displays live!

I wonder if it will break the ice?

you would think they could fly over the volcano and track the lava flow with terrain penetrating radar or heat sensing equipment, you know the things the cops use to track criminal on the run at night on the UK TV shows
