I remember the good old days of the sifi channel they used to have shows like time tunnel, land of the giants, twilight zone, star trek and other great old shows. I cant stand the shows they have on their now it is just terrible. I did find a channel that plays some of those sifi shows on Saturday night the channel is KMEV I think channel 20 on directv.

I just want to know why the heck did they change to syfy and mess everything up ?

What were some of your favorite old Sifi channel shows ?

Actually I like many of the newer series a lot better than the movies they have been showing the last few years. They haven't been good enough to even qualify as "B-movies" unfortunately!

Yeah, I remember when Star Trek TNG was on Sci-Fi too.
Now that it's SyFy it sucks

I agree, just by the titles and description of the new movies they just sound like bad B movies or even F lol.

Yeah there is some MST3k on Netflix, and a whole bunch of Star Trek.
If you guys liked MST3K you should check out RiffTrax.

Money is what happened. A good sci-fi show needs talented actors and imaginative special effects, which means money.

"Reality" shows like Ghost Hunter and Face Off cost next to nothing to produce.

Their original programming is dismal, Face-Off isn't too bad, and I like Paranormal Witness, but they should be airing all the classic old shows like:

  • UFO
  • X Files
  • The Prisoner
  • All Star Trek
  • Both BSG series
  • Firefly
  • In Search Of
  • The Starlost
  • Space: Above & Beyond
  • Lost In Space

Just for examples, in addition to more science fiction movies than just Star Trek & James Bond.

When they changed their name from SciFi to SyFy you knew a descent even further into rubbish territory was coming, and they delivered.

ETA: And yes indeed, MST3K and Futurama.
