I'd rather think that allowing Christian media like TBN into your home might turn your kids camp, and your furniture kitsch.

They actually turn gender into such a parody of gendered performances that it becomes campy.

I can't help but sometimes wonder whether Liberace was perhaps a big influence on such media?

Although I'm sure Tammy Faye Bakker and Jan Crouch must have influenced some young drag queens, it's probably all not intentional and a little sentimental.
The scene was known for fiercely heterosexual men, like Ted Haggard, Jim Bakker and Paul Crouch.

I don't subscribe to religion anymore but there is something to be said about the adage, "birds of the same feather flock together."

Have you ever heard of meme and mass hysteria?

Its kind of like the reason we have "PG ratings" and etc.

You start babbling incoherent nonsense.

MALBOSIA
The right to free speech seems to be something the GLBT folks cannot seem to get their head around.

You don't like what this man has to say then don't listen. If what he has to say is out to left field then nobody is going to tune in and he won't be on air very long. If people want to listen to comments like this that is something the GLBT community are going to have to deal with... Or would they rather everyone that didn't see it their way get marched out on to the street and so anyone who wants to can throw pie and tomato at them?

Bunch of hypocrites.

Yes, but Pat Robertson has now reached the point where people need to take a long and pitying look at him and then put him away in a home somewhere where he can be looked after. The man really is senile. And a massive bigot. And no longer connected to reality.

This is not much of a stretch really. Anything or anybody you let into your home may influence those that live there. Good, bad or ugly.

Wow, how idiotic.

I have a second cousin that is gay. And she is married to another woman. And my second cousin has a biological kid that's about 23 now I believe. So that would make him my 3rd cousin, or something along those lines. And he is not gay. He grew up in a lesbian atmosphere, and he is straight. And I believe he lives with his girlfriend right now.

People are born gay, they don't magically wake up one day and decide to be gay. If that were the case, then I could decide at this very moment to be gay. But I can't. Simply because I am not attracted to other men. It just wouldn't be something that I could do.

Gay people seem to "turn" gay later on in life, mostly because they shield it from the world because our society is so homophobic. Their terrified to let other people know that they are gay. So they live a fake life until they can't stand being something that they're not. That doesn't mean that they all of a sudden had the urge to be gay. They were always like that.

Nobody can ever tell me a solid reason as to why gay people shouldn't be around. Unless it is a religious reason. And it's getting childish that people are still throwing a hissy fit about gay people. Get over it. Their here, and there always going to be here. You may as well get used to it.

Televangelist Pat Robertson warned a viewer on Thursday that she should be careful when allowing lesbian friends into her home because “you don’t want your children to grow up as lesbians.”

Not even sure how to respond to this so....

How quaint.

ANOTHER Pat R/Christianity bashing thread.

I realize it's an honored ATS !!! TRADITION !!! . . .

A rather wearisome one, however.

In terms of the assertion by Pat . . . I'd think it would depend on whatever demonization might be present, involved and how extensively anyone with any kind of demonization interacted with whatever vulnerable family members.

However, generally speaking, I'd think it was the duty of the father of the house to have his spiritual house and authority in order sufficiently that no outside influence could so easily be transmitted through the protection of the Blood of Jesus and His Spirit's protection.

I wouldn't think any healthy Christian home would need to be so anxious about those or any other casual visitors.

Do unexpected surprise, incidental seductions and/or demonizations occur from extended house guests in marginal homes? Yup.

Oh, I forgot . . . you can begin the dogpile of outrage, now.

Never mind letting them in openly. Watch out for the wild ones that will try sneak into your home, they might be hiding in your garden right now. Always best to put out some lesbian traps before bed.
You get the odd gay man too, though more common in the inner cities and towns. If you catch live, take them down to your local LGBT re-homing centre.

If you believe your children may have caught gay, check the phone book for a local evangelist who offers gay cures.

After that comment your opinion from here on in should be considered useless and misinformed.

Thanks...to your posts..I now know who's post is garbage and to just avoid reading it. I also do the same with others on here..so your not special...

Pat Robertson and any religious person's opinion should just be completely ignored. Why would any body listen to someone who believes in an invisible being in the sky who grants wishes. Which by the way is in a book of myths that tells you he/she/it loves you but only on his/her/it's terms or else..

On cue, I see.

Aren't globalist mind control technologies and refined propagandized masses wonderful?

Yeah, Pat's a kick . . . particularly when afflicted by a bout of his hoof-in-mouth disease.

However, he's not as off the wall as those who declare there is no God etc.

Freedom vs slavery.

Millions are terminally enslaved without a clue about their chains.

Some even think that their chains are "red badges of courage" . . . emblems of ultimate freedom . . . when the opposite is truer.

.

You know, we all think this is funny and absurdly laughable---because it is---because we're educated and we know better. But truly,, this is a dangerous man and his actions (if this is true) are really disturbing. This man is doing profound damage to EVERYONE who listens to him whether they are gay straight or something else. He's damaging the minds of the uneducated and the ignorant. He's promoting fear and consequently hatred. What we don't understand, we fear. What we fear, we hate. What we hate, we attack.

But probably most disturbing of all is that this man calls himself as a Christian. Doesn't he have any concern about the destiny of his own soul when he spreads such fear as a seed to deliberately foster hatred?
