He sure does act like someone who 'inherited the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression', his words. /s/

I mean, for someone who's been in charge for one whole term and counting for the second, with countless scandals occurring simultaneously, the country facing completely unprecedented problems on a scale never before seen, he never seems to act in a manner that indicates that he's the top guy who's supposed to have a hand in solving all of these problems. The only time he acts serious, emphasis on 'acts', is when he knows a camera is on him broadcasting to a wide audience.

Let's face it, taking selfies, at a funeral none the less, etc..The guy is acting more like a high school or college kid than the supposed 'leader of the free world' as US Presidents are often referred to.

I hope all of the people who voted for 'change', a completely misleading and meaningless buzz word in the political realm meant to dupe low information voters, are ashamed of themselves..this is your fault. If you voted for him twice, I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I can't believe this bothers anybody. For the record this event was a memorial, not a funeral. Further to that, Mandelas death has been knocking for some time now, this didn't just come as a surprise. The memorial was set up to celebrate his life. What's wrong with anybody (including our political leaders) turning up in high spirits?

Some people around here will use any excuse to have a dig.

Some of you calling the behaviour disgusting. That's right, being in a photo 'disgusting' behaviour. If Obama pulled his trousers down and screamed "go to hell" fair enough I would deem that disgusting, but being part of a 'selfie'? Get a grip.

Obama represents America. At least Michelle got it! America has lost so much respect around the world under this President, and it's very reminiscent to when Jimmy Carter was in office. I am pretty sure Carter thanks God every night for Obama replacing him as the most inept President in our history.

world reaction

But it was the Obama selfie that got tongues wagging and he was even compared to a bunch of teenagers by critics. Newspaper too seem to join the social networking sites in making fun of the "inappropriate" selfie. Telegraph's Iain Martin sarcastically wrote "Why let a fuddy-duddy thing like manners get in the way of a social media opportunity".

There has been a trend of tasteless behavior at funerals where people take selfies and now when mom and dad get onto their kids, they can say, "Well the President seems to get it!"

It's called manners, and the President is in hot water over this in a lot of people's minds, not just us right wing wackos as you seem to think.

Obama is obviously a knob jockey (is that allowed mods? sketchy territory) and was acting like a twat, but things like this are always just part of the big misdirection mind game they play with us everyday.

"Everyone look at the president being naughty" while in the meantime, junk like the following goes down daily.

Something Insane Happend In Congress And You Probably Haven't Heard About It.

Boo-urns.

From the photographer who snapped those pictures -

Anyway, suddenly this woman pulled out her mobile phone and took a photo of herself smiling with Cameron and the US president. I captured the scene reflexively. All around me in the stadium, South Africans were dancing, singing and laughing to honour their departed leader. It was more like a carnival atmosphere, not at all morbid. The ceremony had already gone on for two hours and would last another two. The atmosphere was totally relaxed – I didn’t see anything shocking in my viewfinder, president of the US or not. We are in Africa.

Source

It's 3 human beings having fun at a 4 hour long event, in a stadium full of singing, dancing and cheering, celebrating and remembering Nelson Mandela.

From your same source:

I later read on social media that Michelle Obama seemed to be rather peeved on seeing the Danish prime minister take the picture. But photos can lie. In reality, just a few seconds earlier the first lady was herself joking with those around her, Cameron and Schmidt included. Her stern look was captured by chance.

Like I said in the beginning of this thread: media making something out of nothing, and the Obama-haters only too eager to pounce on it.

I believe media did exaggerate this whole 'issue'. However it would be more appropriate if they were singing or dancing together with Africans than this juvenile selfie situation. He is the president of USA and he came to give tribute to Mandela not himself, his twitter account or Danish prime minister.

IMHO taking selfies no matter who or how old you are should be prohibited by law...but that's just me.

Besides even if Michelle was joking 3 seconds before the selfie she ain't joking now

This photo series is proof she didn't like what was going on and you can't hide or mask several angry facial expressions.

It all smells a little bit like damage control and the truth is prob somewhere in the middle.

i was right!
That totally defeats the opinion of the posters that said she was mad because he was flirting..

People crack me up!

Pictures can say 1000 words indeed!

How is that any proof? those are still images.. and the photographer himself said it was not the case.

If you look at any of Michelle's pics from 2008 to now, her demeanor is always intimidating.

Looking at those photographs of Obama from yesterday, it looks like Americans have" no care" as to whatever and were ever the function may be.

Yeah, well, he seemed to be having a good time. Unlike some 'high society' people in public.

I think she could use one of Stormdancers alka seltzer at the Olympics

If you regard the opening ceremony of The Olympic Games as a "High Society Event" then God knows what American "Low Society Events" must be.

I don't have a problem with him leaning over .. obviously at the invitation of the woman ... for a 'selfie'. I don't think the picture is a big deal. If they were carrying on in the stadium and continually laughing and being disrespectful, then that would be a problem. (I haven't seen footage so I have no idea if that was going on or not). But the selfie? I don't have a problem with it.

Now MICHELLE on the other hand .... she looks TICKED OFF.
If Bo Obama has a dog house, Barack will be sleeping in it when they get back from the trip.
