I knew this would turn into a circus and i'm no prophet..you only have to study politics long enough and this administration specifically to know that there are massive holes in it. @ a funeral he really has some nerve, I seen a post about how Clinton got a pass...if he did it's because his policies were a whole lot different...nicknaming him the "first black President" was for a reason...he certainly seemed to do alot more for them than this President. And i'm not even a democrat but would take Bill back any day...heck throw anybody in there, 2pac, Akon, Martin Luther King, (King may have been the greatest Black President we ever would have had) just my 2 cents. I try not to judge a book by its cover but there's more than one pic, with Michelle having that "mad face" if it was just her and him no one would know why, but with the selfie pics and the supposed flirtation that's almost a dead giveaway...In general...Just embarrassing..smh

This entire narrative is ridiculous. What a colossal waste of time this topic is.

But let's focus on your rant here... the term 'scandal' has really reached a new low. And this is all due to media hype. In fact, every president from now on will be facing the same issue. Know why? Every single person has a good camera phone (this truly was not the case until this president). Every single person has a good way to record video (this really not the case until recently). Every person can add their own context to this (via social media). I can guarantee that there was so much worse going on historically, but there was very little documentation compared to now. On top of all that, the communication with the masses is instantaneous. Everyone can post to blogs, intagram, facebook, etc. (all done from their phone in an instant, also the first president while this tech has spread through the population). So there is so much junk being spewed constantly. People are much more highly scrutinized under the 'new' media, and there is so much more to blow out of proportion. It will only get worse. I admit, there are some upsides to this too (the people get to watch over those that represent us, and the ability to communicate with others).

But seriously, as others have stated. Priorities. Obama acting like a high school kid? Do you have any idea the other presidents that we've had in the past few decades? There are real issues, I suggest you look into them.

There was more out of place then just a little flirting going on. They had a fake interpreter doing sign language (the one thing that crossed between all of the tribes).

Here is where he got the "oh #" I'm in trouble now..

His wife - scary!

I don't think he did anything wrong, and I don't think that Nelson Mandela would fault him for being happy at his funeral.

It would sure suck to be in the public eye like that, and in his wife's eye, who it appears forced him to change seats?

We can argue about policy, big time, but as far as personally, we do not always have to be stoic and sombre at a funeral, especially for someone as amicable as Nelson Mandela.

Thus, I can't bring myself to condemn him personally, for smiling and laughing at the memorial - I have other gripes with him and his predecessors, than trying to nail him for this.

I was surprised to see this fly up to the top of the top page, it's kind of embarrassing not only for him, but for us in a way..

As to Nelson Mandela he'll be missed, by Obama too who I'm pretty sure had a place in his heart for the man of mirth and grace.

There's nothing to see here in this case I don't think, honestly.

Anyway, Merry Christmas everybody, each to a one no matter what your worldview and pov.

NAM

Dude that is awesome, got a good laugh off that one!!!

On a more serious note, posting random pictures of Obama and sitting around pointing the finger at him, with no context is kinda silly. They could have been reminiscing on some of Nelsons better moments and funny things he said or habits he was known to have. People do laugh at funerals when they remember funny moments or funny, humorous things that person did....you can celebrate that that person was alive and made an impact on peoples lives too while at a funeral, it's not always a 100% every single moment must be somber affair.

I would want people laughing and cutting up at my funeral and remembering all the funny, crazy and silly things I've done. While I have a list of misgivings concerning this presiDont who Americant, this whole thread is rather sophmoric imo.

I hadn't seen the pictures I was surprised that he touched her shoulder or motioned like he was. I know woman wouldn't appreciate that one bit. That would be a hell of a ride home for him no doubt. Even if you are faking love that's still pretty low lol.

I can totally sympathize with the perspective of how in and of itself, this really isn't a big deal. And I was wrong in saying it was a funeral (I was going by the OP, should've done my homework), it was a memorial... which sometimes has more of a 'celebration of the person's life' type festive mood than a somber funeral feel, especially in some African traditions.

However!, knowing what I know about the elite..the real truth about government, control by the few over the many, injustice, etc...I simply don't care to see politicians enjoying themselves, period. I don't want to see them in power, never mind also laughing it up to boot while so many honest, well intentioned people are struggling unjustly for reasons that often ultimately trace back to the all encompassing influence of the violent institution known as 'government'.

For those who see through their lies and are aware of the truth regarding what really going on in this world, 'the man behind the curtain', so to speak, their arrogant behavior is frustrating to witness. It's bad enough that we collectively grant them authority over us, but it twists the knife a bit to see them always laughing and having a good old time to boot, patting each other on the back. I've seen a bit of information about how people with traits like extreme narcissism and sociopathic and/or psychopathic tendencies tend to rise to power and it certainly has influenced what I've said here.

Wow.. How Presidential. He makes America look so ......cheap.

I'd love a real President again someday. You know.. a man who looks good in that job. It's been more than 12 years since we had one who knew what looking Presidential meant.

Yeah, because it's all about "looking Presidential". Once you have a POTUS who "looks Presidential" you're covered, even if he is the scum that George Bush was (both of them).

And I forgot to mention Clinton, the cigar sex toy user. no cheapness there...

Like I said, just seems like a poor way to conduct one's self...especially when you are the president... hell even Clinton did it behind closed doors. I got the pics from ebaumsworld.com. I totally understand this is just fodder. Its pointless, irrelevant, and non concerning to his term. But when I am represented by him as an american, it bothers me.

IT WAS A MEMORIAL, NOT A FUNERAL!!

I know you all hate Obama and will take literally any chance to slag him off but he hasn't really done anything wrong here. The selfie was actually taken by the Dutch prime minister Helle Thorning Schmidt, he just happened to be in it (along with the giant reptile currently in charge of my country) and the mood of the rest of the stadium looked like a celebration of an incredible mans life (which it was) so sitting around all in black with a face like a slapped arse would've been even more inappropriate.

tell michelle that.
lol!!

so funny.

I just love the order in which you present those photos! That next to last one shows Eric Holder telling the Danish Blond Prime Minister to "Act More Appropriate...You're Embarrassing Us!". I can see in her eyes she's thinking "Do You Know Who You're Talking To?!?". But she's obviously a little tipsy too.

Priceless photos of a President who doesn't take his job, or himself, overly seriously. He knows that all people eventually die.. and so do all nations. No need to ruin your health and life worrying over long-term outcomes that are guaranteed to happen anyway. This is probably why President Obama never seems to be too upset over leaks, shootings, weather disasters, Congress, etc.. He just does what is necessary without a lot of drama. He'll be a very interesting former President to watch over the years.

I'm not sure Michelle is necessarily upset most about the woman. Mandela meant different things to different people and Michelle is far more serious ..taking her by public comments..about her racial identity in her life, than Barack is.

This event could well have had deep personal meaning to her....and here he is, cutting up like they're at a horse race or something. You can see the guy behind them with the 'selfie' trying to hide. How shameful.

I see real rage in her.

That "guy" behind them with the selfie is no one important.....just the Attorney General of the United States of America......John P. Holder....WTF is he doing back there anyway?

Not a fan of BO, but funerals evoke mixed emotions. Often, light hearted moments can be attributed to the "spirit" of what the deceased would have wanted.

I have to give a pass here, but if BO had never before met the man, I would say yes it was rude.

A fine line indeed, but it does reflect poorly on the Narcissist-in-Chief.

Michelle looks super pissed off the blonde woman and Obama are flirting.
Anyways the selfie is tasteless. His entire conduct is really.

I hope that's a real picture, because that's kind of awesome. Death should be a celebration of life.
