A nuclear threat far greater than Iran

The following info makes a striking comparison regarding the world's nuclear stockpile opposing Iran getting a single bomb.

(CNN) -- "The world is focused on forging a durable agreement to prevent Iran from developing a single nuclear weapon. While critically important, these efforts ignore a far greater danger: the thousands of weapons that already exist.

There are today more than 17,000 nuclear warheads, an ongoing existential threat to human survival that has largely been ignored since the Cold War ended two decades ago. And, unlike Iran, there are no comparable negotiations under way to deal with these far more dangerous arsenals.

As always, this article doesn't take one important factor into consideration:
the person whose finger is on the trigger.

The fact that someone/anyone has their finger on the trigger is the problem. No matter what country it is.

The fact of unabashed race started by white man to find newer and better ways to kill other men is what is causing mayhem in this world.

The white man has falsified history of people on this planet, falsified human values and religion, and is only living with one goal of domination on this planet.

The disaster on this planet will occur by design, but will no go according to the plan. Because Yogis on this planet have enough power to frustrate the evil plans of man. Yogis will make sure the outcome is better for humanity.

Why all of a sudden is there all of this doomporn about how awful it would be if there was an exchange of nukes between countries?
How many nukes have been detonated to date? Thousands?
But just a few more is gonna be the straw that broke the camels back?
I smell fear mongering, the truly evil countries already have nukes.
Shouldn't all countries have these things?
All countries should have the right to defend themselves, or does that only apply to the master race?

Greed is what causes mayhem in this world; by every race. World War I and II were caused by greed, and the third World War will be caused by greed.

When resources become scarce, and greed abundant, do not be surprised if the trigger is pulled on a nuke.

My brother-in-law was on a team that cancelled Russian Nuke codes when we traded some of ours for theirs in the early 90's(?) to prove to each country we were really cutting back our arsenals.

I remember him saying no matter how many made those decom lists, what was left would destroy mankind a thousand times over.

As we argue over not letting other countries develope them...we seem to not really discuss what to do with all those sitting around...

I do not defend India possessing nukes. And India is ready to give up its nukes along with other countries.

My stand is clear - all nations need to give up nukes.

What is driving Iran towards nukes - it is surrounded by neighbors having nukes that are hostile.

Saudi Arabia - Has access to nukes through Pakistan and USA
Israel has a hidden nuclear arsenal.
Pakistan has nukes.

How does it feel to be surrounded by hostile neighbors having nukes???

You made it an issue by calling out the white man. Had you said Iran, Israel or any geo-political group it would've been different. Blame it on the 1%, the Illuminati or TPTB...using the color of one's skin is pure ignorance.

I'm a little more concerned that Israel has nukes and refuses to allow the inspectors in. With that being said, I think once the USA and Russia saw the awesome power of these weapons, they should've passed a world law right then and there banning anyone from owning them. Too late now. I think either all countries should give up the nukes or they will all eventually going to have them one way or another...Sitting in a room with a bunch of hostile people with guns is ridiculous if you are not armed,specially if some of them have the record of using guns.

I sure have. We whine about countries developing Nukes...when we dont emphasize enough about whats out there and being developed.

There are some horrendously-deadly ones like those the Chinese already have out there.

Im thinking if an event happens...its not gonna be a country deciding to use nukes as a statement-pre-emptive or otherwise...its gonna be some rouge individual who WANTS to destroy mankind.

This article points out the elephant in the room when we talk about nuclear weapons. All the nuclear warheads already built and ready to be fired at moments notice is the real problem. But no nation wants to have that conversation except for polite vague political statements which means nothing and fail to spark any serious conversation about a global nuclear disarmament. The nuclear industry makes a ton of money from the maintenance and replacement of nuclear warheads. Take the money and profit motive out of the nuclear industry and we would all see a global nuclear disarmament really quickly.

Nope, I dont believe Iran should be "disarmed" by the US, much less Israel. If Iran, as a sovereign nation, does not agree to disarmament then they dont. We have a fat lot of room to talk about someone being dangerous when in possession of nukes. Heck, we and Russia cant even manage to keep track of our own nukes.. going missing and fissal material al over the place.

I also find it incredible that those who scream about the US being the "world police" and how we need to butt out ( which I wholeheartedly agree) those are the same ones whining about Iran going nuke capable and why arent we doing something aboout it!

I believe this wholeheartedly, Nukes will NEVER be removed unless something more deadly and heinous is developed. WHen they are obsolete is when we will see world disarmament. In that light, Id say Im relieved to see nukes still on the table.
