As to why, I can only guess that your ISP is having issues with it's DNS servers and since you were active on ATS then you've still got that cached
so you don't have to look up the address. Everything else may be expired locally and on checking the DNS servers, not getting a reply.
Rebooting your modem/router might fix it as it should refresh your connection, and you may need to reboot your PC. But if it's on your ISP end and a
larger problem, it might simply make ATS unavailable to you as well.
I am assuming your email is not web based (gmail, etc) and an email client? that would rule out it being browser based..
