Westboro Baptist Church: Scotland’s ‘fag marriage’ caused deadly helicopter crash!

GLASGOW, Scotland — The U.S.-based Westboro Baptist Church, home of anti-gay extremists famous for their “Gods Hate Fags” demonstrations, blamed a deadly helicopter crash in Glasgow on Saturday on the country’s recent advancement of a same-sex marriage bill.

“God hates Scotland, where they marry fag beasts,” said the first of a series of anti-gay tweets.

The tweets came after news that at least three people died and more than 30 others were hospitalized after a police helicopter crashed into a busy pub in Glasgow.

I'm not particularly for or against gay marriage but to make comments of this calibre regarding such a tragic event is just plain stupidity bordering on insanity.

Well seen these fools state there comments from a distance!

The more everyone talks about this church and their crazy belief system,the more attention they draw and they seem to have gotten more bold with all the media . I say stop paying attention to them. By talking about what they are protesting all the time we are only feeding their egos .

Stop giving these people attention. That's exactly what they want. They are just trolls, and the more attention you give them the more fuel they have.

I actually am surprised that they've made it this far without being attacked by angry mobs, or even having their church(es) bombed/burned. In time, perhaps *crosses fingers*

I'm disgusted by what they have said. It might be moronic and show them up to be callous idiots, but the timing?
Why would the media even consider broadcasting these sentiments whilst families are still waiting for news?

It's a horrible thing to say, and I hope they feel proud of their Christian compassion.

I hope Westboro actually go to Glasgow to deliver their "sermon" personally to the inhabitants there.
They'll find out just how memorable a Glasgow kiss is.

To ignore them is to collude with them. And it's really insulting to the families of this tragedy to see these Westboro people saying what they are saying... and have nobody challenge them.

I agree with you, people do need to see this, be angry with them, and let them know their views are atrocious.

It would not be pretty, but certainly memorable, especially for them! We don't suffer fools gladly in these here parts. They would be getting a few stitches at the very least, if indeed they spouted this type of gibberish in our fair city or anywhere in the UK to be honest!

Westboro is a thorn in the side of Christianity ... I'm a born-again believer ... we're taught to love our neighbor as ourself, not to judge ... Westboro, I have no clue what Bible they've been reading but they are such an embarrassment. More apostasy in the church. Christianity was hijacked a long time ago! Explains why I stay away from organized religion.

It escapes me how these people can make these statements, without any consequences. I do not even think they believe the bs they are spreading. Merely doing it to feel like something, to provoke responses.

It seems like they're playing up to their reputation , I've never heard of them before but they sound like a pathetic bunch of bigots , if there is a God and Heaven I guess they'll get there's in the end .

this comes from a group that protests nearly any funeral just to get them into the news.

i find it funny that family members of the Phelps family are leaving the 'church' and speaking out against them.

Yeah, sure, and the ranting and raving of pathetic, gormless, moronic bastards like the WBC is responsible for every car bombing, IED, airborne terror attack, and needless death at the hands of weather events, that has ever befallen a human being.

Vengeance is mine sayeth the lord. I accept that. But the Westboro lot better offer their souls to God and repent of their hubris and self satisfaction, because they will find that God has mercy in Heaven. They should expect nothing of the sort here on Earth.

I fully agree with you on this.

Such hate speech should not be tolerated,not only because of the current words, but in the long run this might simply lead to something far worse. The views are already extremist, now it takes only one charismatic leader or just a lunatic to join, who are willing to take some violent action, not only protesting - or even worse inspire other members to do it.

History has shown what such actions can lead to, the first example in mind would be KKK. Such an extreme views can sooner or later lead to extreme actions.

Letting such speech publicy told is comparable to letting an terrorist trainer on radio for persuading people into "suicide-bombing"...
