Hot off the press:

Angola has decided to ban Islam from it's country as well as destroy all mosques. Angola is the only country that does not consider Islam a religion. Instead, according to these news reports, it looks at it as a perversion and a cult. Lately there has been so much bloodshed against christians, Angola, being 95% christian, has decided that there is no room for Islam and what they consider the tyranny it brings.

Source 1

By popular demand, Angolan authorities have taken pre-emptive action and decided to ban the Muslim religion, which they consider a cult, NOT a religion. They see what Muslims are doing to non-Muslims, especially in Africa, and are taking steps to prevent the same from happening in Angola.

According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.

So what do you think ATS?

Has Islam warranted a push against it by the blood shed, the raping, the killing and destruction brought against people not of their religion?

Has Islam done enough to start what could be a trend, although currently small and limited to one country, that may flare up in many countries to come?

Do you think these people of Angola have the right to do what they are doing?

The first source gives an example of the horrors taking place in Ethiopia with this video. It shows Muslims killing and beating the local christains and pulling them out of thier homes to get rid of them. Even the local police arrest the tied up and bonded Ethiopians and carry them away.. ..and I thought this was a Christian/Jewish culture. Isn't the Ark supposed to be here? They even ask the locals after they tied them up if they were Ethiopian... I mean, THIS is their own country, their home and this is done to them freely by a people not of their country!

(edit: I was led to believe this was actually in Ethiopia - but the title says it's in Saudi)

This makes me wonder what Islam is really about. Some say it's only the radicals, but at the same time, for all who follow the koran, they must follow the same words that lead the radicals to do what they do.

England seems to be having a big problem with Islam now, and like the US, they do what they can to keep the issues from exploding and give in to freedom of religion even though it could very well explode with riots, bloodlust and mass killings.

This video shows that Muslim communities seem to feel that even though they are in free countries, they act as though all laws but their laws do not count where they dwell. Unless you're Muslim, you would do well to stay clear of these areas... How horrible!

So just how big is Islam in, say... England?

How big is the threat?

What do you think would happen if this took place in the US?

What say you ATS?

I don't like it, but I understand it. They're looking at what's been going on all over Africa and thinking about self-preservation.

The world is going mad.

Totally agree. That's why I said I don't like it. But let's be honest, it's not like there aren't some countries who don't already ban other religions from entering them ... like Saudi Arabia, for example.

Well this story is sort of true. Islam is sort of banned in Angola as are most relgions and sects. In Angola to be recognized as a religion you must have at least 100K adult members to register and be allowed to build churches or schools. Right now only 85 denominations meet this standard. Islam is about 10K adults short to meet that standard. However, in recent years Muslim, Christian and local sects have building churches anyway and been allowed to practice but, now they are all being cracked down on. This seems to happen pretty often. Most Angolans 47% practice local relgions with 38% being being Catholic and only 15% being protestants. So along with Islam, Judaism and most Protestant (evangalicals in particular) religions are also banned. So what you have in Angola is a never ending tug of war between freedom or religion and the ability of the Goverment to control those religions. By keeping the number allowed low it makes it easier for the Gov to monitor and if need be shut down relgions who may say or do things that the Angolan Gov does not like.

Angola Bans Islam - Destroys Mosques

Another example of petty differences being allowed to morph into far more regrettable and dangerous divisions.

Left vs. Right.
Red vs. Blue.
Islam vs. Christianity.
Judaism vs. Islam.
Islam vs. Judaism.
Christianity vs. Islam.
Science vs. Faith
Faith vs. Evolution.
Evolution vs. Religion.
Gay vs. Straight.
Straight vs. Gay.

Just to name a few.

We are indoctrinated and fully loaded with tags to apply like weapons against those we are programmed to stand against. Words like 'hate' and 'racism' along with the suffix 'phobia' are used without thought to attack those who are identified as our enemies. The result is that words that have genuine meanings, end up worn down like an old car tire... they carry little weight.

Worst still, should there come a time when the public needs to make note cases of real racism and hate and dangerous phobias... they are dulled and respond like those who heard the boy cry wolf just wayyyy too many times.

Our divisions and subdivisions will be our downfall. In fact, that is the plan.

Scary times for sure.

A bit confused as to how they are attributing violence in Africa to one particular group.

Its my understanding that tribal warfare has been responsible for millions of dead Africans over many many years, Congo, Rwanda etc. While I would imagine that some of those involved were Moslems, the bloodshed seemed to be rooted in sectarianism.

Depending on the definition, it would seem that almost any religion could be classified as a "cult".

Good on Angola. Islam has proven to be nothing more than a political ideology hiding behind a religious front. Anyone who have spent any time in Europe can clearly see how Islam hurts the host nation. It's like a cancer that spreads slowly.

I'm raised in the United States by liberal parents. I was rather liberal myself, throughout school I had more "minority" friends than whites. My ex wife isn't white, our daughter is mixed race. However, I moved to Europe in the early 2000's. Since then, I've seen Europe take a turn for the worse. At first I had no problem with Muslims and often felt that they were looked down upon because they weren't white. (Racism) I made quite a few Muslim friends which gave me a close look into how they really think. And within a short few years, my beliefs were challenged and slowly started changing.

Never in a million years would I have thought I'd be against Islam, but having Muslims openly ask me stupid question trying to be offensive and provoke a fight like, "Did you like the gift of 9/11? we gave you" to being attacked in Sweden and put in the hospital for nothing more than having an American flag on my backpack.

I had lunch with four of my Muslim "friends" and all through this lunch I got to listen to how they hated Europe, how they were going to "use" the system for money and schooling only to ditch Norway and return to their country and how the Christians were "ass holes" and how much they hated them. I've been asked to help illegally bring Muslims into Norway by "losing" my passport. I've had two close friends (a guy and his fiance) put into the hospital for being ethnic Norwegians by a band of Muslim "youths". A friend was robbed by knifepoint by Muslims. I've had Muslim friends who were BORN in Norway who didn't consider themselves Norwegian, but rather Iraqi. I askd why, and all I got was, "Most of us born here don't consider ourselves Norwegian".

I've had a friend raped in Oslo by Muslims for being a "Norwegian dog" during the rape spree in Oslo a couple of years ago. (And something that still continues.) One friend of mine dated a Muslim man, when he got violent she left him. He beat her within an inch of her life and have had actual police escorts take her home from work because he showed up. When he was asked why he did it, he simply said, "No Norwegian dog will ever leave ME!".

This only scratches the surface and of course, only touches upon my own experiences. I could spend hours providing news stories of how Muslims have beaten, raped and robbed elderly women with walkers in the open street, or how gangs of Muslim youths rob people the day, or beat women for not giving them their phone numbers.

And I know some idiots here will claim that none of this is true, that I'm ignorant and have no clue what I'm talking about. These very same idiots are the kind of people who have not spent any time in Europe or have spent any periods of time around Muslims. They keep their heads buried in the sand and pretend that we're living in some kind of Disney movie where we all get along.

The truth is politically incorrect. It's just how it is. No matter how much you want to believe otherwise, reality WILL bite you on the ass. It did it to me.

Oh my hat!

I first thought this is a troll story placed by some dubious website.

Apparently not so.
There are seemingly people from Angola on blogs confirming this to some extent.

However, the story also says many sects might not be allowed (not only Muslims), so I'd still like to follow the story more to check if they mean "Islam" or radical Islamism.

I'm no particular fan of Islam, but freedom of religion should be a cornerstone of democracies.
If they really ban Islam as a faith, I would be against this.
I mean, what next?

I bet this is going to be big news in South Africa tomorrow (which just lifted political asylum for Angolans and forced many to go home, even tearing apart families).

Looks like our South African diplomats are going to have a busy week with Africanist fascism popping up everywhere.

In Zimbabwe foreign shop owners - mainly Nigerians and Chinese - have been told to close their businesses by 1 January.
www.nwaonline.com...

I bet the Muslims and the Chinese are going to have words with our President Zuma.

Errr, didnt you just create a thread commenting on how this is the most oppressive time in history and how our basic rights are being trampled...

What you meant to say is that oppression and the violation of rights are great so long as it doesnt happen to you...

I see a lot of trouble coming. We also have muslims who came to our country in 19th century Russian tatars, they are totally adjusted to modern living and you could not say if you see them what is their religion.

But immigrants from last 5 decades are not blending in Europe.. one reason is that there is a huge amount of them who immigrated in short notice and when they were settled there were not much brainwork used when they put them to live in same neighbourhoods so they were able to make their own areas with their own way of living.. this way of living does not suit in modern europe as it lacks free thinking and its development as a society has been stuck for centuries...

When they started to come here, some of them made fires on their living rooms in apartment houses as they had no knowledge how to use oven or had no understanding how the heating worked. Some of them kept goats in storage rooms in those apartment buildings and butchered those when they had holiday season. And these things happened only 10 years ago.. and i am not kidding !

I can´t see them blending in better when their way of living is controlled by those Imams, who pretty much tell how to live and how to behave with others non muslims. When they preach of hate and untolerance its no wonder conflicts happen.

And those who try to blend and be normal European are forced back to "old ages" girls who would like to wear normal ( European ) clothing are beated up by their own people.

I don´t believe its about love and peace.. its about oppression and hate. just IMO

But see, that's the problem with Islam. It doesn't allow others to worship the way they want. In fact, Islam comes into a country and demands they adhere to Islam! I'll use a little example: In Norway around 2007ish, Muslims made a big commotion because Norwegian banks used the old fashioned "piggy banks". In their eyes, this was insane and they threatened to demonstrate and raise hell.

So naturally, the weaker Norwegians decided that it's best to bend over to their demands and replaced the bank with a plastic hexagonal designed bank that was "less offensive".

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - George Santayana

Norwegians fought off the Swedes, Danish and the Nazi's to keep Norway independent and free from tyranny only to be destroyed from within thanks to Islamization.

After reading the article and what all is posted the following can be stated:

While in the modern day the very nature of Islam has come into question, there are a few things what can be stated when looking at any African country, especially western Africa and there is a word that comes to mind: Fear.

Be afraid; be very afraid of policies and those who would celebrate the kinds of laws that come out of the Central West African nations and countries. While they are pretty countries, with rich and diverse populations, cultures, resources, geography and ecologies, things like this can be terrified to read about.

When ignorance is the rule, and people do not see what is going on, then it is fear that we should think of for countries like this and have pity on its people. These kinds of laws, these kinds of actions, only serve to show how the wheel has turned, and ignorance has enveloped a country and its government. So while there is no way that those who are Islam would be allowed to practice openly, yet now those who are Islamic, will have to consider leaving, as the laws are written to provide legalized discrimination and a new form of apartheid will rise. Instead of the division being along the lines of the color of skin, now it is on something more personal, that of personal belief. Make no mistake, there is a storm brewing and if it is not handled properly, what was once peace could turn into war and genocide, which will continue for several generations.

For those who think this is such a good thing, may want to look at the laws of Angola, and they may be shocked at what they see, a militant version of Christianity, that uses the bible to justify hate.

My statement stands, though.

People should feel free to practice islam. But the second that it interferes with anothers' rights, you drop the hammer down!
