Israel is an OCCUPATION government forced on the population of the actual land. The Israeli government is supplied by the US with arms and intelligence. Yet you want to bash Iran for doing the same for the oppressed?

We as Americans are brought up to defend the helpless. It is pounded into us from birth. It is a fallacy.

All one has to do is look at the Israel situation and the lie is exposed.

I am amazed that the shear force of irony didn't stop your post dead in its tracks. The Jews have been in the land of Israel for more than 3000yrs. Most of the land named the USA didn't exist as such 300yrs ago.

Israel has reason to not trust Islamic Arab nations, they live in the same neighborhood. let's not forget that just 2 nuclear bombs detonated in Israel could pretty much wipe out most of the population, due to it's relatively small size. that scenario tends to focus the mind, just put yourself in his place, by looking at a map, and studying the past 60 years of history.
also, let's not forget when nuclear weapons were put on Cuban soil in the 60's, and America went batsh*t, and threatened to go nuclear itself. now compare the land mass of Israel to that of America, and you might get an idea why there are a bunch of antsy people in israel

Nobody is going to nuke Israel because nobody wants to hurt the Palestinians (except Israel, of course).

Also, I wouldn't try and talk about history, it will only end up with yet more Israeli hypocrisy.

The so called Palestinians are only useful to the rest of the ME as a pawn to use against Israel. Egypt and Jordan controlled Gaza and the "West Bank" for almost 20yrs. At no point did they give their Arab brothers the homeland they claim to want, and they received zero condemnation from the rest of the world. Of course the Arabs could have had their own state in 1948, to go along with that other Palestinian Arab state, Jordan. The Arabs rejected the deal and attacked Israel. They've been whining about it ever since.

jews may indeed have lived in the geographic location israel is now in
however a large portion of the jewish population currently living in israel are of european descent and the progeny of the jews that lived in region are in fact the palestinians (some of which are in fact still jewish)

......so if you want to talk about historical claims to land.............

And the majority of Americans are descended from which continent?

The people who call themselves Palestinians are nothing of the sort. Palestine is a corruption of the word Phillistine. The Phillistines were also know as the "sea people", and originated from the Agean area (Greece). The Arabs in that area would be overwhelmingly descended from the Arabs that conquered that land during the military expansion of Islam following the 8th century.

well modern genetic research would disagree with you then as it shows that the palestinians most likely descended from jewish populations living in the region
and intermingling of populations is just utterly impossible that could never happen

The genetic research you are talking about is flawed. The reason why I am saying this is because there is no such thing as a "Jewish" race.

This is one area I agree with the Obama administration. They don't have Israel dictating U.S. policy decisions in the middle east. Let Benny whine and moan. Netanyahu has never wanted peace with his neighbors. He refuses to negotiate and forces the hand of U.S. policy in the region. It's about time we stop giving our full attention to Israel's complaints. and start listening to its neighbors in a fair and balanced perspective. I find it deplorable that the U.S. has backed Israel all these years, when they continue to take land from the Palestinians. I can't see how any country in the world would stand back and allow that to happen without a fight.

You really don't think that all those other nations over there give a crap about the Palestinians do you? In fact its fair to ask why Iran even sticks its nose into the issue. Probably a good cover for their Hezbollah opium running connections is all. One of these days research what the Iranian backed Hezbollah did in Lebanon when they moved in. That will help you change your tone if you are really wanting to hear a "balanced perspective".

There is no proof Iran is even trying to build a bomb. The only place that bomb exists is in Bennys little brain the same place it has been for the last two decades. Look at the nations around Iran how many of them can say we haven't started a war in over 200 years.

There is no proof that Iran even needs a bomb. But then Iran's leaders shouldn't go around making statements about wiping another nation off the face of the earth.

They never made such a statement and it's what has come to symbolize intransigence on the part of Iranian leadership, but never happened.

It took me half a day to run that one down as far as I possibly could and the statement attributed to Ahmadinejad wasn't even made by him. It was made by the Ayatollah and can't even be called a poor translation. It was outright misleading for the deception used in presenting the translation to the West.

It's something everyone ought to look into and find proof themselves on, being one of the easiest to do that with. It's a very interesting thing to see something so commonly stated in public and media actually has nothing in reality to base itself on.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add to an existing one around this topic.

Just found this article, it really beggars belief:

www.jpost.com...

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the Likud faction meeting on Monday that an Israeli team led by his national security adviser would be sent to the US next week to work on a final status nuclear deal with Iran. An interim deal was signed last week between world powers and Iran over its controversial nuclear program.

Netanyahu said that he agreed with US President Barack Obama to send the Israeli delegation to the US when the two leaders spoke about the interim Iran deal on Sunday.
Related:

"I spoke last night with President Obama. We agreed that in the coming days an Israeli team led by the national security adviser, Yossi Cohen, will go out to discuss with the United States the permanent accord with Iran," the prime minister said.

Once again we see exactly who is the master!

Not part of the deal making process, not a signatory of the NNPT, never allowed any inspections of it's nuclear programmes, guilty of nuclear weapons proliferation (South Africa), ignores all UN resolutions against it and is guilty of crimes against humanity! And yet.... they get to dictate US foreign policy, both via Tel Aviv and their cronies in the US Congress via AIPAC.

It seems, as if we didn't already know anyway, that any deal will never be enough for Israel, unless that deal means the complete subjugation of the Iranian people and obedience to Israel.

Ok so the Ayatollah made it. LOL! I didn't say who made the comment by the way.

Whatever the case its not hard to track Iran back to Hezbollah or anyone else that likes to fire rockets into Israel. From there not much math is required to understand why many around the globe would be concerned with the possibilities of Iran developing a bomb out of their nuclear program.

Be warned that this thing has all the earmarks of becoming a "hay we told you so" deal in years to come.

I'm missing how this shows Israel is in charge of anything but Israel? They just LOST every single thing they'd been trying to accomplish and they lost in a spectacular, world wide public way.

Syria? Lost..and not just lost, but outright burned by U.S. Intelligence for Israeli covert action across world wide news headlines. Wow... Lost beyond all recovery for Netanyahu.

Iran? Well, Israel declared the point of "lost" to be WELL before this stage, many years ago. Now we're here, beyond their red lines in any form, and they're still being told how it'll be by Washington and to go stick it if they don't like it.

If anything, we're seeing who is in charge of who by Bibi kindly sending a little team to have a say in matters ..because he's been allowed to. He's about the last man on Earth with any real sway over Obama, and that seems to have been made so clear in recent weeks, no one can much miss it?

The Ayatollah made a comment that was grossly misinterpreted and badly misrepresented to say "wipe Israel off the map" when he actually said no such thing and what was said couldn't carry that meaning if someone wanted to twist it that way. They did though, twist it that is. The scary thing is...it's still believed this long after.

They chose a language to warp for translation that few within the target audience would KNOW to immediately see the outright lie of it, and few have or spend the time to back check news stories.

Most accept what they are told, and never learn how much of "accepted fact" is anything BUT factual. ....Like the idea anyone in the Iranian Government EVER suggested Israel be wiped off the map.

Of the top of my head the proper translation was something about the 'regime occupying Jerusalem should vanish from the pages of history'. Or something like that.

Here you go.

I am so sick of seeing that crap repeated over and over. The translation of what was said was erase the Zionist regime from the pages of time, not wipe Israel off the map.

The original quote about wiping Israel off the map was supplied by MEMRI, a translation service and Israeli mouthpiece. Once disseminated to the press, they all just parrotted it without bothering to fact check at all.

Oh come on now! Israel owns most of congress. Why do you think so many of them spend so much time over there, and prospective candidates must swear obedience if they ever want to get elected!

If it really wasn't true at all, then why wasn't BiBi's delegation refused entry to discuss what is an issue that is none of their business? In the meantime, Israels most reliable shills in Congress are already baying for blood and trying to scupper the deal with stronger sanctions.
