I know someone posted the live version of this song but it really is the perfect light some candles in the fall and enjoy song...Actually this whole
album, October Rush, has that feel
Type O Negative: Love You To Death
Something really different but visually one of the best bands I have ever seen live..They mix so many genres though their roots are clearly in
goth/death rock/similar styles..The two primary members have been in so many well known bands from that scene..They have fast and slow songs...if you
ever get a chance to see them live it is worth it.
Faith and the Muse: Sparks
How carelessly the bound daylight caresses
Oblivious to wandering eyes extinguished
Free me reckless with the night
Elusive scenes enkindled burst to fire
Where splendor casts umbrageous twin
And love sparks radiance
To guide the heart from within
All in search for you
Eve of brilliance
Till the morning proves indifference
For the sparks die
Leaving shadows in my vision
How dutifully the dull sunlight chastises
Adopted wings that dare arise with promise
Incandescent I represent
Pandora's uninformed enlightenment
And fears that creep about my flame
Evanesce until the dawn calls them
Home again bearing thoughts of you
And I'm helpless to see
Unbecoming of me
Blindly mythicizing
Etiolation emphasized by merrythoughts
Once broken by moonlight
Oh brighter to have never loved
Than gather ghosts of the blinding
Relentless sun idealized in you
And I can't bear to see
Unbecoming of me
Love is not dead
Something slower now...
Tim Buckley - Driftin...
When there's wine in your belly
Love rhythm's on your tongue
For you are a woman
And each man has been too young
But for me you were a lover
Gently under your cover
Your sheet reeks of odours
Oh i came here to hold and be held for a while
I've been drifting like a dream out on the sea
I've been drifting in between you and me
Everytime i think about you
I can't remember what i said or did
Was right or wrong, you know i just don't remember
All i wanna be is what you mean to me
All i wanna be is what you mean to me
Late last night as i dreamed in dizzy sunlight
I thought i heard your bare feet up the stairs
Just like a fool, just like a fool
I've been drifting
Like a dream out on the sea
I've been drifting in between what used to be
Now you've gone and done it...I'm gonna have my Man Card revoked for this.
I can never grow another moustache.
Can't BBQ anymore.
I may as well just sit in the bathroom from here on in...it's all over.
Awesome thread OP, thought I would add my favorite love song to the mix. I recently discovered "Rasputina"; can't get enough of em!
I'm going down to Thimble Island
To find my true love there.
I'm sure that I can find one
Long of limb with time to spare.
On Thimble Island.
I'm on my own down the river
I'll take my ivory needlecase.
I'll weave a blanket for when I shiver.
I'll stitch a bonnet to shield my face.
On Thimble Island.
You go there alone.
To find someone for to call them your own.
I've not heard of girls returning.
It is a murky, mystery place.
I may not have had much booklearnin'
But I've got charms to win the race.
On Thimble Island.
You go there alone.
To find someone for to call them your own.
All the girls are rowing there.
Gently down the stream.
In a dream I saw you there.
On Thimble Island.
I'm going down to Thimble Island
To find my true love there.
I'm sure that I can find one
Long of limb with time to spare.
On Thimble Island.

Not every love song written has a slow melody or sad lyrics. Some of them are actually kinda upbeat...
On the otherhand, some of them sometimes aren't. I had such a crush on Miss Minogue when I was 15 and it's nice to see that time has been kind to
her...
For this next one, we'll need to set the Wayback Machine for 1964 with a lady named Leslie gore. She became an instant sensation...
Level 42 may have been an 80's band but they had some wonderful music...
Did I say they had some wonderful music? I meant a lot...
Living Color was a 90's band that featured the bisexual son of Lethal Weapon's Danny Glover. Cory's career was also helped along my none other than
Mick Jagger who even played harmonica on some of the bands tracks. Sure, it was a love song to "god" but that still counts doesn't it?
To round off todays selections we have a country band called The Mavericks...
I have a sometime to spare so i thought I'd add a few more...
First off, how about a little detour back to Living Color? And "yes", that would be Mick Jagger on harmonica...
Maybe some of you recall a band named Enigma?
I don't care what anyone says, in their time En Vogue went as high in the charts as a band can get. It was originally scored for the
all-female "gangsta" movie Set it Off...
This next one dates back to 1967 and the Sidney Poitier movie, To Sir With Love. Not only was Lulu featured as one of the malcontent students
in Poitier's classroom but the melody took it's title directly from the movie...
Not many people out there haven't heard of Marianne Faithful but how many of them know more than four of her songs?
This next one comes from The Great White North. Jane Child pioneered everything that modern pop stars take for granted. Even Janet Jackson must tip
her hat to Miss Child. Her look, style and music were SO far ahead of the curve that few of her tunes ever made the playlists but as far as I am
concerned, she was a TRUE trailblazer...
This next one belongs to a band named Maxi Priest. They were pretty big in the 90's but I haven't heard a peep from them in recent years...
Let's finish on a high note shall we? It's not like any of these clips need an intro but this one has even less need of one...

Sorry for being such a bother but I really dig your thread...
Here comes a little more 80's cheese...
This Canadian band only had a handful of hits so to speak of and if it weren't for Much Music, they'd likely have never even known the moderate
success they experienced...
I liked Belinda in her time with the Go-Go's enough that I gave her solo career the benefit of the doubt. She definitely had a few hits in her
time...
The 90's also heralded the Latin explosion on the music scene. There's something about spanish culture and passion that always seemed to go together
seamlessly...
Next up is an artist I'm pretty sure most won't know about. Martine St-Clair did enjoy some global success but only really exploded in Europe and
Quebec. I think she never really got a fair shake. Translates directly as: Dance with Me...but could just as easily mean "Dance Together".
Next up is a trip back in time with a band called the Commedores. It's the type of talent we just don't see much of anymore. Dunno about those clothes
though...
I refuse to post any Micheal Bolton or Kenny G on principal alone...there...I said it!
Michel Pagliaro was a talented individual but like many in the business of the time, he fell prey to drugs and sabotaged his career in short order as
only an addict could. It's too bad, he really made some beautiful music...
Time for just one more...so many to choose but I can only pick one. Then I pick Mitsou. Yes...it's just more 80's mistakes and they just won't
stop! For the most part I never really bothered with her but every now and then, Mitsou really knocked one out of the park. It translates as:
Letter to a Cowboy...

You certainly had some nice tunes in there.
I especially liked the Patsy Cline.
Funny that Nelly Furtado was on the tip of everybodies tongues not a few years back but where is she now? Has she disappeared? Did Timbaland eat
her?
Pat Benetar may be a little before the time of many members here but she still one of my favorites...
The Payolas are another band I enjoyed hearing back in the 80's. They broke up as all bands eventually do but returned as Rock & Hyde to enjoy
a few more years at the top of the charts...
Does a band like Queen actually need an introduction?
I'm not a Raphael Saadiq fan but let's face it...a good song is a good song!
