Looks like my daughters new telescope for Christmas is out the window!

Mommy has a new project!

NO

Seriously...do not forgo the telescope.

When you get a camera to use...get one you can attach to the telescope. That and a mount for the telescope so your PC can "point" is will build you a much more powerful, and fun tool (toy).

Seriously...you won't be sorry.

Cool idea, and truly inexpensive. Well at least for the "basic" system. Cheap cameras may not work so well, but still...cool.

Where is the software? Y'all gonna need a whole bunch more than just a PC and a camera.

[eta: Okay my bad...you have software, sort of. personally I think $250 is a bit steep]

What do you do with the videos you have? How do you "identify" what you have recorded? Recording is the easy part.

Yep, yep, I get what you're saying. Well, I think I do!

Must admit, she has her heart set on a telescope.

Thanks for the camera recommendations Jade! Will start looking around next week.

You're welcome. I plan on posting a lot more about this next week. I have a ton of coursework to do this weekend and I'm also working on a video project to be posted here on ATS. Once that is off the table I'll dive deep into this
