You said you have kids. You serve as a role model for them... do you want them to become leeches?
The fat lady is almost done singing anyways...

Also, this Scotsman is absolutely right:

Two words: self respect.

Hats off to everyone with that attitude.

You might as well hang on to your work ethic and do what you can while you can, and try to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The ideology shift you'll have to put yourself through just to accept that way of life is not worth it.
Because by mid-century, there isn't going to be a middle class. There's just going to be the very rich, and the poor. It's happening now, and it's been happening. The prosperity of the U.S.A. (and other "wealthy" nations) is being drained slowly and trickled into countries where people have even less. That's the plan. To create global economic equity (as well as social and environmental equity), not by helping poorer nations achieve prosperity, but by redistributing the "wealth" of nations with a middle class.
I know it sounds like I'm whining...but I'm not. Just stating what I see happening. Personally, I grew up without a lot, and have lived into my mid forties without ever finding a truly valid reason for working so hard to elevate my financial status. I've always been aware of how they find a way to take it away or make you suffer for it. No thanks.

From everything you have ever post I now realize how much of an a s s h o l e you are. Do you live in the real world or are you a 16 year old with a fantasy view of what the real world is like.

Thanks for that catt3, nice to meet you. Thanks also for the name calling, i respect your opinion, obviously you don't respect mine. No, i am not 16, i am a lot older and have lived, probably a few more years than you. Have you tried to be a Landlord? when tenants get Housing Benefit paid direct from the council and buy flat screen TV's with it instead of paying rent, No? i have. over the last 2 years i am £25k out of pocket ....... what with rent arrears and refurbishment of houses after they decided to leave ..... I now have CCJ's logged against me and cannot afford to pay MY council tax ..... line of credit .... hah, dont make me laugh. On top of that i am due in court next year for something i have not done ....... Legal Aid? no chance, you know why not? coz i work full time, my contribution was expected to be £3k per month, i dont earn that much ..... now, i have to find £10k for legal fees which i have no chance of recovering even when acquitted. Believe me ........ i KNOW what the real world is like, what's your excuse?

Im sorry to hear of your problems,

I get help with my rent and get it paid direct to my landlord.

I have been shafted as well but not by the poor but the rich, I worked all my life and paid critical illness insurance of £100 per month to the bank, after an Industrial accident they refused to pay and said take us to court, knowing full well I never had the cash (no legal aid for me either and I was disabled unable to work)

Maybe the people that rented your house was shafted and just did not careless.

We have a problem in our society and we are blaming each other, whilst the bankers have cause all of this.

You just have to look at what RBS have done closing viable businesses to get peoples property for a pittance.
"all the best.

Thanks for the response pavmas. Yeah you are right I never got to understand their circumstances although it was me that directed them to the housing dept when the main earner lost his job, Like i say, they bought the biggest LCD Television available, i dont begrudge anyone a drink either but they also used to go to the local pub every other day, i could go on and on but i wont because i need to move on from this. Cest la Vie!

I also agree with your comments ref the Bankers esp RBS, scumbags!!

Hope fortunes turn around for you, all the best.
