And what is your point????

I am wiling to work for the nice things my family has.

That doesn't then entitle the Govt to take from me to give to others.

They are not my responsibility.

Not one person can offer up why it is okay for the Govt to steal from me, to give to others.

But again, let me restate. What is to be expected while receiving handouts from the Govt?
Should they eat as good as myself and my family?

Suicide, your post came up just after mine. I don't wish being poor on anyone. Done it a lot myself. Lived without a roof, family or any resources for three years of my life. It is more difficult than most would ever understand. It is that much more difficult because we as a society have gotten used to things other people consider luxuries.

You have a computer! It is worth much more than you think. But, only if you can get it connected to the internet.
The internet has millions of posts, blogs and advice on how to live on nearly nothing. This was not the case when I was homeless.

My point is not to degrade or disrespect when I say that you are not doing as badly as you think. Use that internet connection you have access to. Use it to it's fullest.

There is an old saying that Knowledge is Power. For the first time in 20 years a mere human like yourself can ask any questions they want and get the answers. After sifting through the spam and BS of course.
Use that tool to find ways to live cheap and eat healthy. It really is possible, even in this Country.

I know and I have said as much. Think about a Dick Cheney or a Chris Christie when you talk of decadence. Who pays the medical bills for these poster boys for health and fitness? There is plenty more examples and all the while they blame everything on the poor. When A very small percentage of a country's peoples owns more wealth then everyone else in that country put together and that country is considered to be wealthy.... Well then we have a problem do we not?

here is the thing I wonder about, because disability gives you disability based on what your team of doctors tells them... And I cannot imagine doctors saying your able to work when you aren't.

When I applied for disability Social Security sent something to my doctor to fill out, which he did... I was IMMEDIATELY declared disabled by Social Security... after a few years on disability social security wanted me to also see one of their doctors... which I had no problem doing.. and he read all my medical records and also did his own examination of me, and social security had no problem continuing my disability...

I never needed to hire any lawyer, and I was never denied disability... because disability is given or not based on what your doctors are telling them

It is apparent your doctors think you can work, not social security... they make their judgment based on what the doctors are saying.

If you disagree with what your doctors are saying, perhaps you should find out why they say you can work?

EDIT:

There is one thing, social security told me I had to be disabled for two full years before I could receive benefits... are you just confusing this time period with a declaration of disability maybe?

So you would have the ill and sick die on the street? Please tell me what would you do with them?

1 - Straw man. You took it to a ridiculous extreme.
2 - I wouldn't feed them expensive pies and useless soda. I'd spend more wisely so the food would last longer and be more nutritious.

Your taxes pay for roads, bridges, the military, congressional salaries.....do you have a choice what your taxes pay for? Your elected leader decide this.

Do I have a choice??? Yeah, kind of do.

How exactly do relate Taxes for roads, which I drive on and such to giving stuff to others?

Those people eating do nothing for me, except remove additoonal money from my paycheck.

At some point wealth should be shared. When is enough enough? We live in a Country where the six heirs to the Walmart fortune are worth more than the bottom 40% of our entire population. Something needs to give, THEY need to give. Should they not (as is the case) I would force them to.

I watched a video of Paris Hilton eating a gold dust sprinkled $3500.00 banana split. The woman literally poops gold. At some point the wealthy needs to give back. There is only so much gold and when they are eating it they should be forced to share it.

At least have the nerve to say it!

If you are for cutting the sick and vunrable off then they will end up dieng on the streets.

So say it, Dont just say not my repsonsiblity but SAY It "Im for letting the weak and sick die on the street".

I want to hear you say it.

Because something needs to be done to help those sick and vunrable. No rich or developed country just let them "starve" even the most free market of countrys.

So, what is the point again????

You are taxed for schools, roads and bridges whether you use them or not, same thing with social programs, elected leader first offered bills to vote on, they now are laws of the land.

Your tax money also funds the largest military on Earth, do you have a F-18 or a M1 Tank in your driveway? Can you use a local cop car at will because your taxes helped pay for it?

They are not my financial responsibility.
My responsibility is to myself and my family.

This whole sick and dieing retort does very little to me.

There are thousands of methods for people to get food. I still don't see where it is okay to remove food from my family, to give to others.

Well thats what he is saying, they should get no help at all.

You really want to align yourself with macema?

At least you support some help, we may have a diffrence of opinion on what that help entails but at least you support help. And I repect we may have a diffrence.

But no help? Really?

I know this was not directed to me but I would like to give it a go.

The op did by opening his life up to the world.
If I asked for help then yes I would.

- If it's my tax money being spent, I darn sure have a right to say if it's being wasted. Buying crap is wasting it. Buying in bulk more nutritious foods that last longer makes more sense. It's MY tax money. I darn sure have a right to point out waste, fraud and abuse.

- And on this thread, the OP is the one that posted pictures of what he bought and he posted complaints about the amount of food he got. He INVITED comment. So he is getting common sense comments about how he should shop smarter.

10$ for two cans of chicken ...

or

10$ for a 12 pack of chicken thighs on sale at ACME.

Comeon ... which makes more sense? If the person doesn't buy the one that makes sense (using our tax money), then they have no right to complain about not having enough food to last.

If you pay income taxes every year like a good little boy you have no room to complain about what "they" take from you. You don't get to pick and choose what you do and don't contribute to.

The first day of Libya we tossed 300 million in cruise missiles at them. Want to be mad? Don't blame the poor. It is the rich (using your tax money) that is taking money and food out of your mouth.
