And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18)
A recent thread made me think on this subject, and I was "inspired" to share with all you find people...
Take it as you will
What did Jesus mean when he told his followers this?
Obviously he did not mean revert back to infancy... and he likely didn't mean we should be brats or immature in our life...
So the question is... How does one see the world through the eyes of a child?
Like this perhaps?
1 Corinthians
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things
Hmm... I think not...
How does a child view a so called "sinner"?
Does he/she condemn their actions? Or Preach to them about the correct course of action according to a "holy book"?
Of course not... because a child does not know or understand these things
(unless that child is programed sadly...)
A child looks upon every man with wonder and amazement... and asks who is that person? Why is he/she the way they are?
There are no sins to a child... only the person in front of them
There is NO JUDGEMENT in a child's gaze... Only questions and wonder...
Innocence which is easily corrupted by the people of the world... which is why he said this...
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
This is why a child is the greatest in the "kingdom of heaven"... a child is humble to his/her core...
Perhaps we could all take some time and learn from the most innocent of our species...
Be as a child, and find the kingdom
Thanks for listening to me ramble...
Carry on
when he spoke this parable,he meant; children no matter were they are or come from can play together
interact together , not knowing any different.it is adults that instill their wickedness into them.
it was one of his commands to love one another as he has loved us.just as children do.

One cannot be a child when one isn't a child. One can only act as a child.
See how a child acts, and see that we already act like them.
Any longing for the past, or any longing for a supposed innocence once lost, is a declaration that one is discontent with what he has become.
