The term for how you feel is agnostic, that is someone who isn't sure if God does or doesn't exist and doesn't particularly care either way. A sort of meh about religion.

My opinion is that a true atheist is one that does not call themselves atheist or go around professing what they're not... The same way that if you do not believe in fairies you don't call yourself afairiest.

You might call yourself “afairiest” if you were being persecuted, harassed or questioned (or worse) by others, including government, as to why you are different and don’t follow along with the other “fairiests”.
I don’t “go around professing” myself atheist, either. What I believe is personal to me. The truth is I hate labels. I came to the realization years ago that labels are just another form of control by government and society. Labels are tricky, and they are limiting. Labels can be manipulated. If you think in ‘labels’, then your thinking can be manipulated.
I only use the term ‘atheist’ (at least for the time being) for lack of a better one. If such a time comes that I desire to change it, I will. I think that’s my prerogative.

do we really need an atheist church?
Yes! Do you really want the established religion's having control over all the people that want a place to socialize on Sunday?
Ok. Do we really need to mimic Christian ritual, though? This seems a bit disingenuous to me. And the fact this was started by two comedians isn't lost on me, either.

The arguments between atheists and the religious have become so boring and juvenile, just repetitive and circular.

Wrong. Atheist celebrities are popping out over the world. George Carlin was an exception (minus the god hating bits). Reverend Bill Maher holds atheist church services over network tv. And his congregation watch. Its just not a church yet. Lot of atheist quasi celebrity preachers out there. Its just not turned into a congregation yet.
