Several times a year we have Meteor showers. ( One this week) They are the result of passing through debris left over from long gone comets. So if comets give us the flu as one poster suggested... We should be getting sick all year long right?

I could argue with stupid forever.... but I learned long ago stupid just cant be fixed. So if those that believe you are being lied to and there is some massive cover-up going on, my only suggestion is to get off the internet and enjoy your remaining days. Get outside and enjoy the sunshine filled days and star filled nights. And since you are going to be blown away by big scary object in the sky, feel free to quit your jobs. I am sure there is a doomsday cult that will take you in.

To TallOne: Recently NASA discovered an "unique" not ever seen "asteroid" with 6 tails. I just wonder if this could be part also of Ison electric interaction. To clarify my view I need at least to know if this 6 tail object is near the comet Ison path or no, first. Does you have any data that point me on that direction? Thanks.

Yes, a legitimate question. I zoomed through to see what I missed and caught up with your post.

I don't think anyone knows for certain what to make of it. I certainly don't. Experts in various related areas do have their theories though, they just are not making them public right now. But if you are still interested, and I guess you are, then I recommend you give the video in my last post above. CanadianGreekMe does explore that very subject. The short of it is that CGM believes this to be a captured comet in our solar system that is not a fragment of ISON and did (counter to the findings from a recent study included below) originate from the Kuiper Belt or Ort cloud comet reservoirs. I will add the article he refers to below and leave it up for you to make up your own mind about his conclusion.

BTW the have given it a name now, P/2013 P5.

I'm sorry, but did you even bother to READ the articles I linked??? You seemed to just brush it all off without even taking it seriously enough to investigate even slightly.

Of COURSE I do believe, as you most likely do, that most comets/asteroids/meteors etc. do not carry any biological organisms/entities. Most all of them are just varying conglomerations of, basically, frozen mud.

However...biological things can, and do, survive hazards equal to or worse than those presented by the hard vacuum of space. I know that they can, because I studied the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis at UT Houston, and I know how tough that particular bacterium is. Both bacteria and viruses have what it takes to survive the hard vacuum, cold temperatures, vast time scales, and extreme radiation environment of space and yet remain viable.

Please don't just dismiss me out of hand due to pre-existing biases. Read the links I provided in my previous post. And also, realize this: the edicts of NASA about how impossible it is for there to be life present anywhere else in the universe, is nothing more than posturing, and brainwashing. The same conditions that led to the creation of life on this planet do now and have previously existed in nearly every reach of our vast universe, and possibly beyond even that. If you are not open to that possibility intellectually at least, then your perception of what is - or at least, what could be - will never allow for the miraculous, infinite diversity of what is.

Now bear with me on this fellow atsers, I've been reading channeled info coming from the Andromeda galaxy about Ison and I've been tempted to start a thread of my own about this especially after someone in this thread mentioned something about cigar shaped objects seen around the nucleus of Ison.

Anyway, what I've read is that (and I repeat, bear with me here) comet Ison is a biosphere/celestial object named Xanterexx containing members of the Galactic Federation (good guys) coming to announce liberation from the dark forces (opposition consisting of the Orion Reptilians, Greys etc.) and helping to usher in the ascension of Earth humans into 4th density. Members of the GF are listed here complete with physical proportions, characteristics, and craft descriptions. Yes there are some craft described as"cigar shaped" and these beings, most of them hominid like, come from all over the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies.

Now I know many of you may not be into channeled information and are ready to toss this into the hoax bin but I must admit that the info is very intriguing, especially to the average conspiracy theorist. If you are intrested, take time out to navigate one of the sites I stumbled across where the channeler stated:

I swear reading threads like this help me realize just how few people had basic astronomy or paid attention in science class. They're just as superstitious as they were in the 14th century.

A few weeks ago, long before this thread. One of my children spoke with me about the future education of their infant. Guess how they intend to choose the school my grandchild will attend... By interviewing the Science teacher.

It is not that some kids failed to listen up in class.... It is what they are being taught. And too many parents neglecting to find out what their children are learning. Do you realize some science teachers still don't grasp the basic concept of how our moon works? I read a post a while back about someone thinking the earth shifted because they just started to notice the sun was rising and setting in a different spot over the course of the year. That is not the result of inattentive children... It is the neglect of teachers not teaching. Good thing I raised some good kids with great minds. They have all had an argument with their science teachers over the course of their early educations. My two youngest even had a month long segment of learning about how the world was going to end in 2012 years ago.

Its simply because ISON is boring, it was thought to be so bright that it would be visible in broad daylight. Its nowhere that bright, still a binocular object. ISON will be brightest around end of November, after that it fades really fast.

And it doesn't cause any meteor rain on Earth, it still passes very far. It passes Earth on 26th of December, from 0,43 AU (64 327 084 km, 39 970 997 mi). That is half way between Earth and Sol.

You have no idea how big this comet is, so I am not sure why you are trying to tell us how much bigger it needs to be.

Look... here is the bottom line. We are just starting to understand what our vast universe contains.

Thanks to technology and science we have the ability to access information we have never had before.

And it is always good to have a healthy debate and discuss ideas and theories. It is what keeps Science and Technology rolling and advancing.

But to spew gloom and doom because a cultist is channeling something is not doing anyone any good.

Our space program in the USA had been defunded by a tyrant.

Even if we were going to be wiped out by and Asteroid or a Comet in an hour... what difference would it make? We do not have the ability to evacuate the entire planet. There is no where to go. It's not like those in love with the night sky haven't been looking.

If aliens were coming to save us all and rescue us with a mass evacuation.... don't you think the process would have already begun? It does take a ton of work to organize a mass evacuation for just one city. A massive evacuation is not even possible at the last minute. If Aliens were here to rescue us... You would think the countless mass of amature astrologists would have pointed out the massive ships in the sky ready to beam us all up. I cannot find any evidence of those kind of reports. And last I checked... most of the ones who study the night sky just for fun....are the ones who discover this kind of stuff.

Good grief... so many of you gloom and doom people need to get outside more often.

I never realized the principles of astronomy were a ''bible dogma'' that can't be evolved or change no matter how many new things we discover about nature,the universe...!

In Greek true is called αληθής,which is the negative α- and the word ληθος which means stone, stable, no changing, no moving, so ancients thought truth is the opposite of stagnant, static etc.
Imo they were right, everything evolves, everything changes, everything flows ( Πάντα ῥεῖ, Heraclitus) and if you don't follow up with new evidence, you end up static and away from truth.

Science must not discard anything untill proven wrong, otherwise it is not science it is religion.

I take it you didn't pay attention to the linked video because it shows why it is not a spaceship as said in the post I was replying to.

Seriously, the overwhelming vast majority of astronomy related threads on ATS would die an instant death of more people would just walk outside with some good binoculars and see for themselves.
