There was nothing wrong with what Obama said his policies were going to be, it's what most Americans wanted. Millions of white people voted for him, so no I don't think it was his race that won him the election... surprised you would even say so.

The second election may not have seemed as bad as the first in 08 concerning race, but to deny the fact that Obama was elected in the first place due to his skin color in 08 is total and complete pure ignorance of the HUGE elephant in the room. White liberals have been conditioned with "white guilt" by the left, MANY of them voted for Obama because he's black. I personally witnessed white liberals accusing others of being racist for not voting for him. Blacks were "uncle toms" for not voting for him. There is no way you can tell me with a straight face that this wasn't the #1 factor for him being elected in the first place. The second time around may have also included this, but many people including some republicans just didn't want to see Romney in his place. Too bad it didn't go 3rd party but I suppose that is now off topic.

Clearly, race is not an issue why on Earth would anyone leap to that ridiculous conclusion? This is all about uninformed voters right?

- The election was for a spot on the Houston Community College Board of Trustees. Again, the COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. The vote was basically split down the middle which is likely because nobody knows who the hell either of these guys are.
- The guy he beat was black.
- He used deceptive claims of endorsement in his literature.

By show of hands, who here has ever voted for somebody they didn't know a single thing about because it was waaaay down on the ballot and most people really don't have time to follow every single local election down to least significant offices? How many of you have done it more than once on the same ballot? In fact, how many of you have voted straight down among party lines?

I can't believe how ridiculous some of the denial is in this thread. Disinformation that panders to the worst in people, lots of lulz there.

Yet another reason to join Russell Brand in not voting again ever.

Haha I have to down here or they stick you with $100 each day you don't.

But that donkey sure gets a lot of votes from me.

It's either the donkey, or some other ass, anyway....

Bush was NOT good, I think most on here agree with the exception of a few. But people did NOT vote for Bush because he's a white guy. If this was a factor in the Bush elections we would have seen riots worse than the Rodney King riots. This is what people are missing, yet it's not racist to vote for a black guy just cause he's black. WHEN will the double-standards stop so we can move away from this racial nonsense??

Speak for yourself only. That blanket statement was just pure imaginary hogwash on your part. There are many of us that try to know as much abut the candidates as possible. But we will never know 100% about the individuals, not unless we give them all Vulcan mind melds. But I would hope at the very least, that people would know what their candidate looks like. LOL...

And that race card business deserves no answer.

Your absolutely right!!

Because in 99.999% of past elections there were ONLY white guys. Why does this seem to not make sense to anyone.

Because he did pretend to be black. That's why!
So what now, we hide the facts or be racists? Do you realize how silly this argument is?

Oh I see, so the FIRST time a black guy comes along then it's racist if you don't vote for him, regardless of not being informed on his policies etc. This is the ridiculousness that has plagued us. Get over it and realize that racism is VERY strong right now, but it isn't so much in the way you or the left likes to push.

Oh Im sorry am I making a written assumption that racism isnt alive and well?

I know that it is, and its fascinating then when stories like this come out, peoples racism starts showing, even when they think they are being clever. If people took as much time in trying to expose stories like this, and tried to actually reveal the REAL issues this would be irrelevant in any day and age.

Was it fair in the past that no other ethnicity or sex were considered or even considered themselves qualified? No. But this is not what this thread is about.

Politicians lie. It is your duty to do due diligence and find out for yourself before you vote. While he is unlikely to be re elected he won. Ignorance isn't an excuse

Yes, considering you respond with this -

Because in 99.999% of past elections there were ONLY white guys.

As an argument to refute that Obama was elected because he's black??

I know that it is, and its fascinating then when stories like this come out, peoples racism starts showing,

You got that right. I see whos racism is showing and it's sick. I think we need to move on from racism, but some people just can't let it go.

It's hilarious is what it is. Just goes to show how stupid people are. I'm glad he did it. 100% awesome.

And that's the story of how Obama got elected.

Going by your answer, you are admitting that you don't know who you are voting for looks like? And you are asking me how I know what they look like? This is a joke, right? Good one! I am am falling out of my seat with laughter. You almost had me fooled that you were serious.
