Barnabas 10:1
But forasmuch as Moses said; Ye shall not eat seine nor eagle nor
falcon nor crow nor any fish which hath no scale upon it, he
received in his understanding three ordinances.
---Again, ordinances are there to point you to the higher truth. No truth can be gained apart from the right ears. Ears are seed and seed comes when
the heart (Soil) is prepared.
Barnabas 10:2
Yea and further He saith unto them in Deuteronomy; And I will lay
as a covenant upon this people My ordinances. So then it is not a
commandment of God that they should not bite with their teeth, but
Moses spake it in spirit.
---Teeth is the hebrew letter
SHIN. Food is knowledge and knowing requires being pressed with
pressure. Once a seed is pressed, it bursts open and a new thing is created. Again, having ears is necessary. Ears are representative of seed and
grain. Grain is used to produce bread. Literally, our opened ears will allow us to be reborn into the waters and eventually into the new Spirit we
inherit.
Barnabas 10:3
Accordingly he mentioned the swine with this intent. Thou shalt not
cleave, saith he, to such men who are like unto swine; that is, when
they are in luxury they forget the Lord, but when they are in want
they recognize the Lord, just as the swine when it eateth knoweth not
his lord, but when it is hungry it crieth out, and when it has
received food again it is silent.
---Food is knowledge. When do you cry to the Lord? When you need assistance. The point is well taken here if you get what he is saying. Love the
Lord as you love others. Love others as you love the Lord. Do not be duplicitous or double minded. Do it for the right reason. Good is its own
reward.
Barnabas 10:4
Neither shalt thou eat eagle nor falcon nor kite nor crow. Thou
shalt not, He saith, cleave unto, or be likened to, such men who now
not how to provide food for themselves by toil and sweat, but in
their lawlessness seize what belongeth to others, and as if they were
walking in guilelessness watch and search about for some one to rob
in their rapacity, just as these birds alone do not provide food for
themselves, but sit idle and seek how they may eat the meat that
belongeth to others, being pestilent in their evil-doings.
---Have you ever wondered what it means to eat crow? Should have listened I suppose. Pride makes us open our mouth apart from knowledge. What was
the downfall of the 'experts' in the law? They took knowledge for selfish purpose and manipulated the law. What of the moneychangers today? What
of the High Priests in Rome today? What of the Builders (Masons) of today? Our world today reflects the thieves in charge. God has put them there
for one purpose. Opportunity to repent. Light reveals what it hits.
Barnabas 10:5
And thou shalt not eat, saith He, lamprey nor polypus nor cuttle
fish . Thou shalt not, He meaneth, become like unto such men, who
are desperately wicked, and are already condemned to death, just as
these fishes alone are accursed and swim in the depths, not swimming
on the surface like the rest, but dwell on the ground beneath the
deep sea.
---In most cases in the Bible, the animals are comparative of archetypes of man. Do you remember, earlier, when he was speaking of the company we
keep? We are all fish in the waters of baptism. Some feed off the bottom (what is dropped or lost from the top) and some near the surface and light
of the sun.
Barnabas 10:6
Moreover thou shalt not eat the hare. Why so? Thou shalt not be
found a corrupter of boys, nor shalt thou become like such persons;
for the hare gaineth one passage in the body every year; for
according to the number of years it lives it has just so many
orifices.
---Here, he compares the hare to the child molester, which was a common thing in Greek culture. To this day, it is a plague in the Roman Catholic
Church.
Barnabas 10:7
Again, neither shalt thou eat the hyena; thou shalt not, saith He,
become an adulterer or a fornicator, neither shalt thou resemble such
persons. Why so? Because this animal changeth its nature year by
year, and becometh at one time male and at another female.
---The scavenger of a leftover caucus and a gender that is changeable. The comparison here should be obvious. The symbolism is the removal of the
beast within. Compare to 2 Timothy 3:
3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do
with such people.

6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of
evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers
oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in
the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.
Barnabas 10:8
Moreover He hath hated the weasel also and with good reason. Thou
shalt not, saith He, become such as those men of whom we hear as
working iniquity with their mouth for uncleanness, neither shalt thou
cleave unto impure women who work iniquity with their mouth. For
this animal conceiveth with its mouth.
---Liars will be trapped in their deceit. Do we know any liars today?
Barnabas 10:9
Concerning meats then Moses received three decrees to this effect and
uttered them in a spiritual sense; but they accepted them according
to the lust of the flesh, as though they referred to eating.
---Not all food is good. Remember, food is knowledge and our seed is information. This seed produces in the soil we develop in the waters of life.
Barnabas 10:10
And David also receiveth knowledge of the same three decrees, and
saith; Blessed is the man who hath not gone in the council of the
ungodly--even as the fishes go in darkness into the depths; and
hath not stood in the path of sinners--just as they who pretend to
fear the Lord sin like swine; and hath not sat on the seat of the
destroyers--as the birds that are seated for prey. Ye have now the
complete lesson concerning eating.
---Again, comparison here is to the bottom feeders of this life. Eating is what we ingest into the body. What comes out of the body is what matters.
Matthew 15: 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a
person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
