Is there any way to find out what the material is being seen ejected or released from this object, from EA*RTH?

Well, apparently their brilliant hypotheses just turned out to be crap. Who knows what this thing could be. ~$heopleNation
Maybe someone will get the bright idea to observe for x-rays. It would indeed be odd to see x-rays coming from an asteroid wouldn't it?
'Weird' JET-PROPELLED SPACE OBJECT spotted LURKING NEAR MARS
A bizarre spinning object, described by NASA as "weird and freakish" and shooting jets of matter that causes it to move, has been spotted in our Solar System.
The mysterious rock, located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, was seen spewing matter from its surface by the Hubble space telescope on September 10. Then in a second image taken on September 23 the asteroid, dubbed P/2013 P5, appeared to have swung around significantly.
I apologize to any who I might offend, but with what I have witnessed in my lifetime I have decided that following the pied piper of accepted science is not going to lead to the truth.

I've found nothing that tells of this object's distance from Ceres. Some of the more recent articles are saying they are unsure if it is an asteroid or comet, so who knows? Some are saying it may be a MBC (Main Belt Comet). They are still trying to figure this thing out.
Just out of curiosity, though, why the fascination with Ceres and how it relates to this object?

Where is this "thing" in relationship to Ceres orbit?
So, is it orbiting in the center of the belt, or in Ceres solar track.

Plot Twist, it turns out it's an alien spacecraft from one of those billions of earth-like planets in our solar
system.

What if that's a fact ? you mean its operating by something else? Did SETI not detect plasma coming from habitable planets or working towards that to support the Kepler findings?
LOL. I believe sick to the stomach is a better bet. That's the feeling you get when a "standard" scientific model breaks.

...become quite frightened when things don't line up with what they expect.
