This is our dog, Wally. The day was overcast - there was no sun shining. The blurry image captured (showing above his head and behind him) looks remarkably like our cat, Lyle, who died a couple of weeks ago.

Husband was trying to get another good pic of our dog, and discovered this - it is direct from his cell-phone to my laptop to you. NO ALTERATIONS have been made.

I don't know how to do the circling and arrow pointing and stuff, so all I can do is describe what I 'see' - it's either some strange reflection - or....

could it be, a capture of Lyle's essence, having just stepped off the porch step there, his head obscured by Wally's while he's sniffing something, with his legs, body, and tail wrapped around toward the house?

Lyle was a siamese-chocolate point long-haired Balinese cat. The coloring looks JUST like his was.

What do you guys think??

At first I thought it was a sun reflection, but going off of your word, no sun, so I looked for a minute...and yeah, I can see the cat like appearance. Do you have a picture of your past cat to compare it to?

I dunno, I know you said there was no sun shining to reflect but it sure looks like sunlight to me.. There is also sun reflecting on the top left hand side of the pic for reference.

You sure that there wasn't any sun? Cause of the way that it acts towards that step. It bents as soon as it meets the edge and is flat like light would be. Doesn't look like what a 3d object would look like.
Those shady parts are leaves from tree's.

But hmm...

I think this is a lighting effect of some sort. On the left of the image you can see a shadow cast on a pillar just above the chair so there appears to be a lighting effect coming from somewhere.

It is clearly a sun reflection and the shadow of your husband while he is taking the picture. I'll bet there is a window behind your husband.

I could be wrong, but that is what I see.

It's also not 1922, 2015, red, cheese, 1944, or feet.

What's your point with the 1921 reference?

Oh, and before you say it, it's definitely not 2098 nor is it lemon. Don't even go there.

No, there was no window behind my husband. Just our wooded backyard.

These pics were taken this summer - he was greying, 19 years old, and losing his hair. When he was in his prime he looked like this:

Obviously light of some kind. Very very very obvious.

There appears to be sunlight hitting your dogs head and in particular the right eye...you can see the reflection in both the dog's eyes. There also appears to be sunlight hitting the corner of the cooler behind the dog's head.

Could be a small opening in the clouds let sunlight through just as he was taking the pic.

Hmmm.... I Know you said it was overcast, but I'm going to have to agree with the status quo. It definitely looks like sun shinning as can be seen numerously throughout the picture

ETA: you can see light in your pups eyes, on the lid of the cooler, on the dirt (right side of dog) and also right above the chair.

Yeah, probably light - but reflecting from where? It would have had to be in front of the phone, wouldn't it?

I guess maybe off the window? I THINK it was overcast, but I can't swear to it.
Oh well. I miss Lyle.
Just thought I'd run it by you guys, husband wanted to share it...

okay. Thanks anyway, guys.

It is what it is.

I want to believe that it is the spirit of your cat that still lives in your home because it was happy and loved there.

Sad pic but one that makes me smile a bit.

Aww. Thanks, beez! (congrats on your promotion, btw)...

I felt him walking on me during the night while I lay in bed, and his whiskers on my face (thankfully NOT his claw, that he used to hold out like an index finger and poke me in the eye or face when he wanted attention)...

He was the nicest cat ever.
Yeah, I know he's around. I'd never seen a pic like this one taken by me or husband before, though.

Can see legs and tail and it pretty much does look like a cat ghost..

To me it is logical to assume that the energy or essence from creatures that have died, could stay around what was comfortable, and a safe place for them to be.

Maybe you can try to catch some sound of this cat's spirit with a recorder or something too..

Too me it looks like you caught the real thing..

I love Siamese cats, my sister has 2 kittens now since her other Siamese cat died a couple months ago, I'll ask her if she has experienced anything odd..

Cheers

I do not think this is a "window" reflection or "sunlight". The anomaly is clearly being partially blocked by the cooler. If this were a reflection from a window it would at least partially be seen on the cooler itself, and not appear partially behind it. Great pic, and maybe it is your kitty cat.

Don't listen to the people who bully behind their keyboards, and dismiss EVERYTHING they see on this site. I agree most things can be explained, but not all, and some people on here would call a race car in the sky a Chinese lantern if they could not explain it.

I agree with everyone that it is just sunlight...

but, I'm happy that your cat was so loved while here on earth. I'm sure he knew that. Not all animals are so lucky.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I do not see anything 3d here , more like a stain on the steps or a little sun getting in from the clouds. That was a pretty cat, sorry for your loss.

Yeah? Thanks!

To Cuervo and kurthall, and beez!!

I feel all tingly inside now. I have no doubt that animals have spirits - he was with me for his whole life - he was actually my friend longer than ANY OTHER friendship I've had (except my kids' dad, we're still friends after 31 years, but divorced 22 years ago)...

Anyway, wow. Yeah, maybe it is, maybe it isn't - but it feels nice to know he's still around.

Thanks again, folks!
