I've read a lot of near-death accounts that portray the light at the end of the tunnel as a source of ever-whelming love. Some people say the light is God or Jesus, etc.

But I have also read, less frequently, the idea that the light is a trap that pulls us back into the reincarnation cycle that is constructed for non-human beings that feed off of our emotional energy. Loosh is the word used by Robert Monroe. This is what these alleged Not Us supposedly feed off of.

I'm not asking you to tell me whether we should trust the after-death light. What I am asking you is, if we have control of our behavior, what should we do faced with this light that creates a powerful wave of love inside of us? Enter the light, back off and check our intuition, or go away as fast as possible?

I have never heard of the light being a negative thing before, so I think I would seek it out. As for reincarnation, I sure hope we have the choice because no way am I coming back here again!

Our memory of previous lives is wiped clean supposedly to prevent confusion. But could it be to eliminate progress made in terms of wisdom and moral level?

Ask the light for all knowledge of everything. Listen to it babble for five minutes earth time because time slows down when dying. Then when thats done walk back to my body and become conscious 3 days later because i'd be in a drug induced coma. Then get heavily involved in political activism.

Also i'd like to add that this actually did happen.

I never did understand that. I mean if we have previous lives, you would think we could learn from our past mistakes so that we may grow into being better human beings. If we forget those lives then what is the point?

If thats the case then life is just a tv sitcom and when you reach the end of the episode you get a case of amnesia and you meet new cast members and be a part of new stories when you are born again.

Sorry if i sound like i'm trollin but i'm reeeeeally high right now.
man i love ATS you guys really make me think.

I've read of the soul trap. If I had a choice, I'd like to think I'd explore my surroundings first. Maybe find an alternate route to freedom.

I hope more than anything that we have full autonomy after we die. It is indeed theorized, though, that transdimensional entities use the planet's inhabitants as their energy supply, and thus are keeping the world as depressing and love-squelched as possible so that later incarnators continue on an endless vibrational plateau.

I'd at least like to go on a break to a more peaceful planet. If I want to experience strife and pain again, I know where to come.

Ain't no Great Light or shepherding angel gonna force me against my will into another socially sickened, evolutionarily defective human body again.... no effing way. I do not accept that!

What if Love isn't an ultimate end? What I mean is... If everything physical disappeared and stopped existing, you would have darkness, and that darkness would be ultimate, all-encompassing. This whole "God is love" thing seems to me to be an attempt at manipulating humanity. How do we even know that love is a quality that non-physical beings experience? Maybe the whole love and light thing is just one giant cosmic cult, a bait to lure us into playing into the hands of something far more advanced than ourselves. Let's say we die and see the light and we go on to it and find that we are now living as spiritual beings amongst other, more advanced beings. If your first experience of this new spiritual post-death existence is an overwhelming love, you're probably gonna be damn sure to go along with anything.
I think the safest way to go about understanding the bigger picture is by looking at it without emotion. Take the basic God vs. Satan story for example. Take away the emotion, and what do you have? Well, it's quite a role reversal, that's what.
Anyway, to answer your question: by all means go if it's what you want to do, but don't go blindly.

Not if you wanna do the whole "one with God" thing.
Self is not allowed, so say goodbye to your own mind.
I'm with you, I think I have the right to continue existing as an individual consciousness should I so choose.

This happened back in 2008. I was involved in a quad accident and i cracked my skull in two different places. My uncle who took me down to the local hospital said that i was bleeding out my right ear my nose and mouth. When i woke up i asked my mother and grandma "how long i was out" they said i was out for three days. And when i was in the ICU i asked the doctor that was checking on me with his team i asked what happened when i was out. The doctor said that my heart stopped for five minutes on the helicopter ride to the U of A hospital.

So now you're asking what i saw when i was legally dead. The whole experience to me felt like five hours. So i'll try to make this short. I saw the white light at the end of the tunnel that feeling of "peace" so i decided to ask it where i was it replied with "you are taking your first step into path that all living things must take. Do not be afraid." i asked the bright light what are you? it replied with "i am everything that was, everything that is, and everything that will be." I then asked it what is the purpose and meaning of life. It replied with "the purpose of all living things is pass on something of yours to the next generation. whether it's your own genes, memes, ideals etc etc. Life has no meaning unless you give it meaning. Like giving a word without a definition meaning. Life must find it's own definition to give itself meaning." I also saw the true structure of the universe. It's rather difficult for me to describe the beauty of the universe but if i had to put it in the simplest of terms i'd say it's like the light in a lightbulb only without the bulb.

The point is that you would never learn anything new if you continued to have the same biased perspective as you do now.
Me and you and everyone else disagree or agree on many things because of our preconceptions that are built, one on top of another as we live, starting at birth.

A wipe is necessary in order for you to start a fresh and have a different view and build on that.

Me and you and many other people think our way is the correct way or answer on many subjective things and you can't understand unless you get in my footsteps and experience it.

Edit: The you from previous lives is not lost and gone forever. It resides deep within your soul matrix (or subconscious as science may call it)

I disagree. I don't think it would be the same biases if you were able to remember because In each life, one is born into a completely different environment, different parents etc. You would be a completely different person whether or not you could remember. I think if you could remember previous lives, it would just increase the learning curve.

I never said anything about being gone forever i said pass on genes, memes, influences and ideas on to the next generation. Because you live on through your offspring. The individual maybe "on the other side" but you live on through the offspring just like our ancestors live on through us.

I've died, I was very much under the influence of a very potent stimulant that a popular television series was entirely about, and had consumed an (apparently toxic) amount of a particularly potent strain of fungi. I awoke in my own bed, with reminders all around me of what had happened. ( I knew I was potentially going to die from anaphalactic(sic) shock or cardiac arrest and had written a goodbye of sorts) I remember just floating through absolute emptiness, but feeling very ok with it. The bright light most people report is caused by the brain flooding with dimethyltryptamine preparing for the body to die, which causes hallucinations and pupil dilation (don't die outside on a bright day). dimethyltryptamine (aka the Spirit Molecule) is considered by me and many people whose opinion, experience, and spiritual values I respect heavily to be the bridge between "Here" and "There". It prepares your mind which has been bound to the Earthly body to return to the "Source" and leads your consciousness to the next thing. You will be reminded of everything you knew prior to coming here, and will know what your next step is, or will have already preplanned your next step. Don't be afraid to ask questions whilst there.

Maybe you should read the full version of the Tibetan Book Of The Dead . It can tell you what the lights mean. There are more than one and if you choose follow you can become reincarnate as a human, a god, animal , etc. etc. The goal though is not to reincarnate at all. I hope this helps you.
