In Musicians generally.. Males like male topics in a music... females always talk about female perspective of their sadness, loneliness and w/e.. it will never relate to a male.

Its like putting a girl in a group of guys while they talk about guy stuff, only some females could relate, i mean everyone would understand what they are talking about, but not everyone will "get it".

If i do listen to a female musician, its probably because the tune or the beat got my attention, its almost never the lyrics.

Not true at all. I play guitars, keyboards and have been a lead vocalist and music teacher. I have ALWAYS...supported, purchased music by and attended concerts of female musicians and songwriters.

Ill go a bit farther and say...there are many...MANY...female artists of all types who would blow away their male counterparts.

Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) grew up to have one hell of a voice. And bod. But her voice kicks big-time ass, she's pretty damn good.

One of the enduring mysteries I’ve encountered in my life is the phenomenon of why men don’t take female rock and pop musicians seriously.

Sorry, but absolute nonsense.
Among my favourite singers / bands / artists etc;

Siouxsie Sioux
Poly Styrene
Pauline Murray
Justine Frischmann
P.P. Arnold
Nico
Martha Reeves
Pauline Black
Jackie Abbott
P.J. Harvey
Janis Joplin
Timi Yuro
Brenda Holloway
Doris Troy

Hell, I could go on for ever.

My personal taste is rooted in Punk and Ska but has grown to be quite eclectic.
I can't ever recall anyone even considering disliking any piece of music solely due to the gender of the singer / artists etc.

And for the record I think U2 are good, seen them live a couple of times.
Bono does seem like a bit of pretentious knobhead but I've been reliably informed that he's really an alright sort of guy.

Some of U2's later stuff has been pretty mediocre....but their back catalogue is full of quality.

I just hired a female musician to perform at an upcoming company event. Saw her in concert with Robert Plant (he was in some band called Led Something) and though she was great.
