Do you know Osiris is more properly known as King,Asar, Asari, Aser, Ausar, Ausir, Wesir, Usir, Usire or Ausare....could he have been an ancient Assyrian king...again assumptions which seams to plague people on here, Osiris was a mortal man, a king who became deified hence the belief that he is buried in the delta Sais.

That list came from wiki and is only the various transliterations of Osiris' name from the ancient egyptians hieroglyphs.

So, no, he's not "more properly known" by any of them.

It's possible, barely, that Osiris was inspired my some ancient leader. Good luck linking him to Assyria though.
