Superman I'd love to go to canada me and a few friends maybe planning a skiing trip to Canada in early 2015 (I know ages away)

When I lived in Calgary, I went to Lake Louise to go skiing. I also went on the Columbian Ice Field as well. I highly recommend doing as much as you can around that area but avoiding Banff unless you want to stay at an overpriced tourist trap.
If you can, also go to Radium Hot Springs, a very cool place up in the mountains.
Edit: Frank's Slide is another cool place to visit. Sorry for not being on topic but I just thought you might be interested.

I believe we are ALL in for a heck of a winter. I'm across the pond from you in East Coast Canuckia and my husband mentioned to me the other day that the bee hives this fall are high up in the trees. Bees know what we do not, about winter anyways, and this means lots of snow....for those who still swear by the Old Farmer's Almanac.
Good year to just hibernate, methinks.

Not saying that we, within the UK shouldn't prepare for winter because we should...that said the Express had the same headline last year > www.express.co.uk... Be prepared, but don't trust the tabloids

That's good, we will take the fog and they can have the snow. We got a lot last year, over two hundred inches of snow. Places nearby got over three hundred inches.

Superman when the time comes to booking a trip I'll remember to look those places up. Expenses I don't mind not that I'm made of money but if I go to Canada I'm making it worth my while that included decent plane seats for the long haul flight

"The UK to get major snowfall in the next month or two..."

Is this the OP doing an impression of the Worlds least bothered weather forecaster?!?

" it might rain, it might not not, who knows when and who cares where!!"

Do love the white stuff from time to time, though...

Actually no I wasn't but I'd probably do a better job than most weather forecasters in the UK. I simply made the title because the news article says we are expecting this in November which is only a month or so away

So sorry if the title is a bit crap this is why I mainly lurk on here

Its going to snow in the UK

Seriously

wow!

Because living in the North of Scotland i can honestly say it would be nice for the rest of the UK to suffer the way i have to for 3 months of the year

For a minute there, I thought you were gonna whine like an Englishman!
Being Scottish myself and living among the English, I always chuckle when they say England is having bad weather and all the English folks start getting their winter clothing out, because we always had much worse weather when I was growing up. Good ole softie southerners.

Back on topic:

I look forward to getting some good snow this year and we're well stocked with food, water and coal anyway (I'm a really anal planner! lol) so we'll be alright as long as the pharmacy can get to us within 6 weeks.

You scots/northerners are just jealous we southerners have soft supple skin and can roast in the summer sunshine (when ever that happens) :p

Us Northerners have things like this to look at just out of our back doors...

So you can stick your sun where it doesn't shine!

Yep just greedy indeed.

It sucks living in an all electric flat, storage heaters are rubbish

I feel sorry for people who will be put in the position of having to choose between heating their home or eating

You need a coal fire with a side burner mate. That's why we decided to move to the place we're in now. Can't beat a lovely coal fire when it's cold outside and while the rest of the house is a wee bit chilly, the lounge feels even cosier.
