What draws us here? What is the quintessential essence of ATS?

What draws us here? ====
Although it is a good question, I have no answer. Why is my wife the center of my life, even after her stroke? Again, I have no answer. BUT, since I found her 41 years ago, I can't imagine life without her. ATS, I think, is kind of like that. Since I found this place I can't imagine life without it. I do not visit daily, but I am here reasonably often. I really can't remember the last time I was gone a full week.
I don't write much, in fact in a little over 9 years, I have hardly gotten my feet wet, figuratively. I have however learned, read and actually begun to think--sometimes. When you are as naive as I was, a little insight goes a long ways. Look at that. I wrote all of those words and still really never answered the question. Now you see why I rarely write anything.

I'm mainly here for the prediction threads. I hardly ever contribute, but they are just the best to read, I have literally been crying with laughter at some of the threads on that forum. Nostradamus this and I've had a dream that, have you? Well done!!

However, I have learned alot from some real analytical threads as well as short, sharp threads. It's all relative and has a message, whether you choose to accept or deny the message there's always a message.

Well said, and if not a direct answer to the question, the inferred underlying logic paints a picture of one's motivations.

I've come up with three or so common points amongst our community of the so called fringe.

I believe most of us have come here to seek the truth.

That most of us are distrustful of authority, and mainstream forums and such.

And lastly, that we desire validation, to hear another human being say that you've got a method to your madness, that you're not crazy.

Of course, those are just some observations. I could be completely wrong, and every one of you folks could have your own unique reasons to belong here.

Night Star

And we have dragons.

Yes, we do.

But the dragons aren't the main reason we come here. In fact, I find them quite distracting. As a person who has had a house fire, I've got to say that my motivations for coming here are almost entirely but not completely unrelated to dragons. They're the arsonists of the cryptozoological world, you know.

DRAGONS?? www.theepochtimes.com...
The link will send you to an article from 2005 with two pictures of Dragons in the sky over Tibet.
Yeah, I think I found the article, which I bookmarked, as a sidebar to something I may have been doing here. Another reason to like ATS, I suppose.

I suppose some of us might be here for dragons, maybe. But they're probably but a single facet of your core beliefs. Most folks that tend to term themselves as conspiracy theorists have more than one conspiracy that interests him. And your motivations as to coming here to discuss dragons probably has to do with a need for validation or communication that in normal parlance would end with others making disapproving remarks and looking at you funny.

Now, everyone is entitled to their theories and beliefs, the majority of which are probably unrelated to dragons. Unfortunately, now they're the only thing I can think about in regards to the conversation.

For the love of all that is decent, enough dragons.
