OK, so now that it has launched I have started to think about the sites themselves. As designed, they are nothing more than a data collection site where you must enter information not just to sign up but to peruse the site. Now, there are a few things that I think may be occurring and would like some feedback so I can put this in the maybe or crazy category.

1. Are they mining your pc while you are on the site - Now, we know the government has some great tools for spying soooo...could all of the 'please wait' messages be so people leave their web browser up and allow 'mining' of data from you pc? I mean, how much easier could this be? It is a hackers dream. Please log into my site and wait while I take personal information and maybe even passwords. They could easily grab all of your favorites, saved passwords, etc. It is there for the taking and if you do not think the US gov does not have the means to do it, well, you should believe.

2. You have to create an acct to browse prices - Why? I mean, i can look at a car without entering in all of my information. Even loan sites ask a few 'personal' questions without a SSN to credit check and I can get a ballpark figure. Data collection folks once again. They make you sign in and you are hooked. MAC address...IP even if masked. They will know if you ARE masking it by seeing what software you are running and will that put you on another list????

3. Once you are in you cannot get out - You cannot delete your account once you are in? I mean, even Facebook lets you opt out after you go through some hoops but you can. You see, once you enter it the information becomes property of the government. Read the fine print. This information, if needed, can also be given to Law Enforcement without your knowledge if deemed necessary.

4. If your credit score is checked, then they are giving you a price based on that - Not only that, but last year your employer had to put on your W2 what they paid for your for your insurance. I have a feeling that not only are they checking your FICO, but since they are run by the IRS, it is checking to see what you were paying and making the price according to that. I mean, why it is not a FLAT FEE for ALL across the country? For medical insurance there are 4 common tiers, single, plus kids, plus spouse and family. This would be truly affordable healthcare.

John McAfee also discussed this about a week ago...

So, what is it folks? Most agree it is a tax package wrapped in a promise but did we honestly see this coming? Some did and many warned people but this is the Change many of you voted for. I recommend not even hitting the sites.

information is power, power is control.
the more they have the more they can control.

that's all obamacare is.
it's not about taking care of the U.S. people.

It is just another way to collect data on you and track every minute detail about your life.

I find it ridiculous that they check your credit score. What the heck does my credit score have to do with my healthcare?

We're all plugged in to the system one way or another.

"As more and for families are looking for insurance options for the new Affordable Care Act, they're finding out their credit score will have a big impact on how much they pay," reports an anchor. "A lot of people want to know why credit scores are determining how much they pay." "Well, they say it was explained to us like this: It's like buying a house or a car. Your credit score and other factors can determine your interest rate. In this case, it can determine how much you pay in premiums," the local reporter explains. Says one Obamacare navigator: It's "so that a health insurance provider can make educated decision about who to insure based if somebody is defaulting on all their bills, they may not want to have them in part of their health plan."

This is the line that really gets to me and should to everyone, even those who support.

I thought this was so the consumer could make an educated decision and the providers would not be able to overcharge, reject based on pre-existing, keep you plan, etc? That was the plan I heard. However, as we can see and some of us predicted, the PPACA is nothing more than a new way to tax and to penalize us. This was supposed to be for people who could not afford it so would you not expect them to maybe have low FICO scores or...that was the plan! Bastards...

If you want to opt out...that's ok but you do not have a real choice since they penalize you and it comes right out of the your tax return. It is supposed to be on the 1040 this year.
If you want coverage we decide if we want you...if we do not and you do not qualify for coverage or cannot afford then you are not complying and we penalize you.

How can ANYONE still be behind this?

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. They just shove it down our throats either way. I would think twice before signing up.
