A company out of Japan is exploring the realm of digital scents, with their relatively bulky product launching in Japan right now. Although this may seem like a small step, their R&D Crew is already getting ready to move into the gaming market.



The Scentee adapter plugs into your Smart Phone through the audio jack at the moment. Its projected retail price in the U.S. next year is $30.00.

The Scentee adapter comes with one smell, although you will need additional microchips to smell new smells, however those are only around $3.00 each. Scents included at the moment include gunpowder, beef, curry, rice, forest, lavender, rose, etc.

I am still waiting for Smellavision. I can't imagine watching Dirty Jobs at a pig farm.

Ugh. This would be totally useless to me. I almost have no sense of smell. Still, S&F for the info. This is an interesting development.
