This is just getting ridiculous.

Before you know it.. Stargazing will be closed due to the shutdown. Without the government how would the universe work?

FFS, either they think people are stupid or are pushing people to act out in some way. Someone high in government... lefty government (Although party lines don't exist anymore) really doesn't like this shut down and wants it to end using any means necessary.

We need a small coalition to head to D.C. and lockout the whitehouse....
It is costing us way to much money to keep IT open!
And it obviously is the opposite of essential...it seems to be detrimental to this country and its people

I wonder if "We The People" should consider this an act of war?

Obama can sit back and say "Look at what they are doing to you, look at how they are holding the American people hostage".

NO. Defund this mess you call affordable health care, stop arguing over how to spend money you don't have, and let's go from there.

Every dip stick in DC , the ones behind this mess ,Reps and Dems should read this thread, they might get a clue as to how clueless they are! Obama needs to say enough , House and Senate are doing nothing good for any one, they need to do their job, pass spending bill, enough of this bickering.!!!!!!

Or they don't want anyone escaping or fishing to survive.
You can't be escorted out there or go out on your own?

You can't go the other way into the Gulf with that tropical storm swirling away

the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean

What is happening on the rest of the coastlines?
How important of a port is Florida?

Could they be up to something there they don't want found out?

FEMA is shutdown .
That's interesting in all this. Good excuse to have thousands die, should there be a natural disaster.

They're either up to something around the Florida coastlines or expecting something to happen where people would attempt to flee. Once you're in open ocean, it's international waters. They don't want anyone out there it seems.

I'm just speculating btw

wow, that`s the funniest stupid thing i`ve ever heard, so now the government owns the ocean?

I think they own so many miles off the coasts, then it's international waters where they don't.
The borders extend into the water.

I JUST drove through Yosemite NP (via Tioga Pass which IS open) and I tell ya, there was an awful lot of traffic for a "closed" park. In Lee Vining (entering Yosemite Tioga Pass on the eastern side of the park) restaurants were packed, the motels were booked, and there was darn near standing room only in Woah Nellie Deli. That place was packed with weary travelers, especially campers, climbers, and backpackers!

There were no park officials, rangers, or other personnel that I saw. I drove for over two hours and did not see ONE park employee.

People are not listening, which I personally think is great. They're still enjoying this NP, that is for sure as well as Inyo National Forest.

Does anyone know if they're going to stop taking the federal out of our pay? Since the gov is "shut down" and I cannot use resources such as the parks here in California, why should I still have to pay them every two weeks?

Are they purposely trying to push our buttons anyway they can? Do they want a uprising? Are they asking or trying to figure out just how dumb downed we are?.

No, it's just the nature of government.

Naturally, government doesn't fix problems, it's not designed to. It creates problems.

The evidence has been staring us in the face for a hundred years.

I can agree, however, I wouldn't use the word government. I'd use the word humans instead.

Human nature for years now have basically been doing everything in its power to destroy our planet, and even each other.

Government itself hasn't done anything. Government is just an idea we've came up with to try and create order. And over time we can see governments haven't done much good overall.

That's not something I want to think about. My niece is young, down there with her husband & new baby.....she's keeping her eyes & ears open to see what might happen next...I'm hoping there's nothing happening down there, except the government(Obama) trying to strong arm shutdowns, that the local authorities don't want to enforce.......it seems like they come up with something more outrageous everyday....wonder what today will bring......

Pain is the plan. Pain to the greatest extent they can manage to inflict it. Isn't that what some very angry Park Service people have said they've been ordered? Well.... this sure supports it.

It's more expensive to cause the pain for people than not to. That absolutely shows what the priority is here.

Every part of the federal government has to make it look like they are doing something useful. If they step out of the way, then the natural self-organisation of human nature would take over. Fishing boats would organize buddy systems to take care of each other and organise their own rescue services, perhaps even fund their own rescue service like the RNLI in the UK.

The same thing happened in the UK - charity organisations for the welfare of animals organised volunteer groups to clean up the beaches. The cleaning department of the council eventually opposed this as it meant their staff didn't have the perk of visiting the beach.

Shutdown is another word for strike. US gov is holding it's citizens to ransom, absolute treachery!

You Americans should join the government and shut down/reduce the flow of income tax into gov coffers by going on strike too. See how gov likes THAT!

Cut off their money and bring scabs in to take over the job

Yes it will result in making life much harder all round for everyone but only to begin with, because from there the only way is up.

Your gov is your enemy, it does everything against you so what use is it to you all?

Problem is we would have to impeach everyone in DC, or clean house.

And amend the constitution.

"No lobbyist shall be permitted to donate, bribe, fraternize, associate, or co-mingle with any government official, at any level of government, if convicted, each party shall receive a minimum of 10 years to life in jail."

According to this, the Feds are now evicting people who own homes on government land:

'Feds Evict Elderly Couple From Their Home, Cite Shutdown'
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I wonder if this action also applies to houseboats now anchored in the Florida Bays.
