take away stars and flags

Sometime without understanding what a poster posted, I have flagged or starred a post or thread. I would think the ability to take away the star or flag should be available. That happens after they post again later in the thread then it is more understandable what they were saying.

You can wait to star or flag it until you are clear. Just an idea...

There is an option to take away flag, for stars there isn't.

I have waited 15 - 20 minutes to star, then I do and then 1/2 hr later they explain themselves further and I wish I could take it away. I didn't know I could take a flag away. Thanks

It doesn't happen very often, but on occasion I have accidentally starred the wrong post, when I meant to star the one above or below, and wished I could take away the star.

You used to be able to un flag a thread. But seemingly that feature has gone. I generally read through the OP then give star and flag and then read through the rest of the thread.. Maybe don;t be so keen next time..

Have a flag and an ATS cookie too..

I think the S&F is silly anyway.

I seen some pretty stupid posts get stared just for them being popular opinion.

Hell just write obama sucks or i love the teaparty and you will get a mountin of stars even without giving a reason.

Sometimes it is deserved. I agree also sometimes not, but Obama does split the people who visit this website.

as far as I know you can take away your flag - unless that's changed with the new theme? Stars, you could always read the whole reply before starring it, then you're not giving them away to a dbag who writes something crap at the end

Does anyone else think this only has 5 flags because people have tried to flag and remove to see if it works?

But yeah, sometimes removing a star would feel like saying something, like when we remove a flag. Can we still do that?

Until you know exactly what the person intends... Don't star. At the end of the day nothing will happen if you accidentally star someone.

I call that "wishy-washy". In the grand scheme of things, who really cares? So few members stick around anyway....a lot of folks just can't seem to interact in an environment that is as demanding as ATS. And it really isn't that restrictive or demanding, to be honest. I just called you wishy-washy, afterall.
