No I have not heard of these before. Thanks for the vid. I watched it and the light beam we saw did not look like those in the video.. Still have no idea what it was...!

Our internet connection is crap - checked DL speed last night... it was 0.22 Mbps..!! UL speed 0.94 Mbps.. We are meant to have a speed of 10 Mbps.. Ach well...!!!

Lol no worries.. Yes we get internet but more and more folks out here are turning to satellite internet.. The broadband is just so slow.. You cant even watch a 20 second youtube video - its so frustrating...!!

We have been thinking of getting satellite internet.. Keeping my fingers crossed..

You can get Sky and Freeview up here too. But we do not own a TV.. And there is phone signal. Albeit it goes down quite a lot so is pretty intermittent which is a pain. But as long as we have one form of communication to the outside world we do not mind...

and the mainland is no better sky broadband speed 0.8 mbps and 0.3 and the phone if you are lucky with 02 gets two bars max yet the base next to you has fiber optic cable installed in it some islands have a better 3g signal than the mainland

The witness said the ray of light was so brilliant that many of the witnesses could see it rotating within it's self. Also it was noted due to the brightness of this light that they could see a black line running the whole length of the white light. The black line stayed in the same spot as the rest of the light rotated as mentioned above. She also said it looked like a jet stream to give a good example of what it looked like. Also the total length of the ray of light was all the same brightness. There was no portion of it brighter or dimmer. It remained constant right across the sky. (HBCC UFO Note: I did bring up the question, did anyone see any aurora at any other time that night? I was told no, none was observed).

The witness said the ray of light stayed in the same position for an hour before it started fading away. I also asked if any of them saw any other strange lights in the sky that night, and she told me no. They only observed the ray of light running across the sky. She also told me that the light was rather wide, meaning it wasn't just a small point of light.

From description it sounds like rocket launch. Very high in the atmosphere the exhaust can make strange noctilucent clouds. Potentially it could be a release from a rocket of something used to study the ionosphere which isn't uncommon in northern latitudes.

My son and I just saw the same thing in Windsor Ontario Canada, Horizontal Torchlight, very bright, tight beam of light, very large in diameter, perfectly straight above cloud line ie. at least 2000 ft., 2 Beams.... lasted for approx. 2 minutes. Light source must have been super powerful! not coming from the Ground. Miles and Miles in Length, Clear Sky, Perfectly Cylindrical in nature, bright light throughout length of beam... could not see end or beginning of beams of light. Just wild! 8/18/15 at 10:30pm. Not a plane or casino light....1000 Xs that kind of strength and the size of these beams are not anything that I have ever seen before!

Same! Your post is the only thing I've found on the web with an accurate description. I saw 3 beams last night. They were straight as an arrow from horizon to horizon. Very strange, indeed.

We need more information:
- Where are you located/where did you see these?
- Time of night?
- Facing what direction?
- Etc.

Other members may be able to help if you can provide us this info

This was in Henderson, KY around 10:30pm. I was visiting and couldn't tell you direction, only that they were all aligned parallel to each other and seemed to be equally spaced apart. One sat above horizon line, the last one was directly overhead. They did not seem to move at all. Very static, very straight.
