They lurk every where.

On busy street corners, in shopping malls, movie theaters, the grocery stores, even...driving.

No, I'm not talking about the flesh eating Zombies.
But rather what I refer to as the 'techie' Zombies, usually caused by these gadgets called SmartPhones [SP].
Although the phones are smart, it doesn't necessarily make the humanoid that operates it smart.
In fact, it actually zaps them into oblivion, causing them to behave Zombie-like.

And this is a global pandemic, one that not even Darryl Dixon can stop.

I'm sure you've seen the symptoms.
Heads down, walking erratically, bumping into objects & people. Walking into water fountains and falling down stairs, as shown here:

In other words, oblivious of their surroundings. Unaware that they are being controlled and manipulated by the 3x5 gadget that has no conscience, therefore it doesn't care that it has turned you into a mindless zombie.

There are those that seem to be immune from this disease and stay connected to their environment & stay alert to the people and objects around them.
So they have no fear of the dreaded running into poles, benches, walking into glass doors, or other people.
Or as one guy shown here, almost walked up on a bear while texting:

Also, when at restaurants, kids are no longer top priority with the 'Parental Unit'.
Nothing is more annoying than a 'Parental Unit' who is unmindful of their kids, leaving them unattended while they reek havoc and terrorize the patrons.
"Hello Mom, watch your kids, not your phone!!!!"

And groups of friends at a table, heads down, mesmerized by the SP, having no conversation with one another.
They just sit there....and sit there. Face down, thumbs just a gettin' it.

So please, put that phone down, take a deep breath and give it and yourself a break.
Don't fall victim and become the next walking Zombie.

So stay safe, be polite, keep your head up and be aware of your surroundings.
And smile!!!

And just like zombies, you dont need feelings-you've got emoticons instead. As Dr McCoy used to say, it's life Jim, but not as we know it!

Tried several times to bring the site up and finally when I did, all my work was wiped out.
Had to redo....ugh.

Funny you bring this up, at my last job at lunchtime in the brake room almost everyone about 20 people silent with their heads in their phones, and a few years ago workmen where working on some pipes and dug a 3 foot hole with lights, cones and tape around it and one woman walking in front of me busy clicking away on her phone just walks right through the tape and into the hole

she was ok though just embarrassed.

Shame that wasn't caught on video....LOL.

She'd be another victim on YT!!!

Seriously tho, the number of injuries due to 'blind attention' is staggering, not to mention the ones that go unreported due to hurt pride.

Talk about deaf, dumb and blind.....literally.
That joke has now become a reality, unfortunately.
