Are you in one of the states that the article claims won't see a big increase?

I'm in TN where it says a man my age should see a 73% increase, but I have a family policy through the company I work for. It is a high deductible policy already so I'm not sure what to expect. My current premium is $130 every two weeks, I can handle it going up a bit, I'm just more worried about another increase to my deductible.

This report was specifically for those not receiving insurance through employers, that pay for their own.

Yes I'm aware of that, but if all those policies are getting more expensive with higher deductibles I have a hard time believing mine will remain totally unchanged.

....Because typically women have more common sense than men. So they end up in the emergency room less.

at least that's my guess.

Considering how much more it will cost the employers, everyone should take a good look. Wont take long for everyone to be in the same boat.

It's amazing how much people know about
something that hasn't even happened yet.
When it's a popular addition to the way our country
treats its citizens, will it go back to being called
The Bob Dole plan?

see the trillions of dollars that go missing every year, why not put that to free healthcare for every person in the usa? its a farce from start to finish the way you are all treated. if a country like uk can do it, why not usa with all the money that goes elsewhere?
break a leg and it costs a fortune......look how much is spent on countlesss wars for example as well....

what about all those babies women have, the hospitals arnt free, thats not the mans problem!

I am being very sarcastic there and just messing about.

Women do not get in any less or more medical problems than men at all, if anything men avoid hospitals when they shouldnt where women get everything checked!

men are more stubborn about personnel medical issues (like prostate cancer) = less medical bills

They are not missing, just look at the CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) and you will see we have trillions hidden in plain sight, but people don't want to get educated, they can't bother reading about CAFR's or watching any videos. It's not really complicated but it is usually boring as it's about accounting and how to keep two sets of books legally.

Do your homework people.

I haven't heard anybody in the Media talking about how Obamacare will crush the economy by lowering individual discretionary income. When millions of people are suddenly forced to buy an insurance policy their spending on other goods and services will decrease. The Media hype men act as if citizens will magically be able to afford an insurance policy with some extra magic money they have each month. The insurance companies are going to be flush with cash payments and your local restaurants and retail stores are going to be decimated while people stay at home broke. The real problem is that the current generation of business owners all take too much for themselves and do not pay enough to their workers. If my income was higher I would gladly purchase an insurance policy.

Homework? Think you should do your own homework if you read this quote:

The Federal Reserve has kinda, sorta misplaced $9,000,000,000,000 as shown by a recent video surfaced on you tube Your tax money is being stolen. No one at the federal reserve is keeping track of what happened to 9 trillion dollars.

With black budgets and under the table deals can we just guess where all the money has gone? Into the pockets of the Bilderberg fortune 100 attendees. We provided detailed evidence the organization exists with actual documents from their conference recently released to us! Read the documents at Unusual Bilderberg Documents Uncovered at Georgetown University.

So thats $28,125 roughly stolen from every American citizen. Its time for a class action lawsuit . The Federal Reserve is private isn't it?

Rep. Alan Grayson questioned the Federal reserve Inspector General where $9 Trillion dollars went... um...ahhh...err Inspector General Elizabeth Coleman hasn't a clue...Kinda misplaced it did you?

Keep your ears open for when she says - they have no jurisdiction to investigate the fed!!! Only the federal reserve programs!! That's crazy!

What you have been seeing across the world the last few weeks is a scramble for gold, silver & copper as sound currency will be the only thing of value to local business's. People preparing for the collapse of the U. S. dollar as World Reserve Currency. They are stocking up on precious metals and if you where smart you would as well.

Your health system is a joke, poor people can't get medical aid they badly need to live and survive, I'm talking about brain surgery, heart transplants etc so don't give me that everyone can afford to give the leeches who demand money to help. Many are too afraid to go to hospital with minor ailments in case their insurance doesn't cover it or they don't have any. Free medical drop ins are not there for such a thing. Spend the money on your people and stop these stupid wars you lot are always having and the money would be there to help.

Nine trillion dollars recently missing. Two or three times the annual budget.

Interesting...but if its on youtube it must be true.

Insurance for women is typically more expensive, so the men's is increasing a higher percentage amount than women's. That tells me that either they will cost the same under the exchange or the cost is at least closer to the same than it has traditionally been.

Not really, but there is too many trillions going missing that can't be accounted for is what I am trying to say. I would hate to live in the States and find something was wrong with me and to go to the ER. I saw a programme on TV recently where they put an woman outside because she had no insurance! Where is the justice in that?
Tramps here in the UK get same treatment as people who are loaded....

Unless the medical facility was not participating in the medicare program (the vast majority are) that is against federal law.

Universally mediocre treatment?
In any case, I'm not completed sold on the idea of socialized medicine. While not a perfect solution, better access to medical insurance is a better alternative.

Well it was on the hospitals CCTV and she was left lying on the sidewalk in pain until some people managed to help her. Healthcare is a joke in the States unless you have insurance or money. I once had to go for a ct scan and got the best treatment which cost me nothing and I was in hospital for 6 weeks. What would that cost in America I wonder?

Sounds pretty vague compared to "they put an woman outside because she had no insurance."

Have a lot of experience with it, do you?

You were in the hospital for 6 weeks for a CT scan?
In any case, if you couldn't pay the government here would pick up the tab. Or the hospital is left "holding the bag."

Interesting results from a survey here.

• Seven in ten adults (69%) in England are satisfied with
the current running of the NHS. This matches the level
of satisfaction recorded in December 2011 (70%).
• While this level of satisfaction has been stable for the
last two years, it is now significantly lower than
between December 2009 and December 2008 when
73% of the public were satisfied.
• Approaching one in five (17%) adults are now
dissatisfied with the NHS overall. This is relatively low
looking across the full length of the survey, although it
has increased since a low of 11% dissatisfied was
recorded in December 2009.
• The number of people saying they are very satisfied
with the NHS is now 17%. This has fallen significantly
since 24% was recorded in December 2009.
• Over this same period the number of people saying
they are very dissatisfied with the NHS has increased from 3% in 2009 to 6% now.

Apparently NHS staff isn't really that happy with the state of things in the UK medical program either.

Apparently there are weaknesses in your "free" medical care. Apparently those weaknesses are probably going to get worse.

Probably not, but employers tend to have more bargaining power than a single individual, so I imagine rate increases will be lower.
