Qestion about Admiral Byrd?

I read in a post a while back about a Admiral Byrd who lead US forces in WW2. I could have the name all wrong but what I read that he took some US troops north to take on some German troops who fled Germany. From what the post said the reason the US troops lost was because the Germans had help by either Alien or some other influence. I believe This battle took place after the war was over.

If anyone has info about this please tell me the name of the General and how i can find more info about about this issue. Thanks
