Nasa is great in many ways. Sure many organisations would be able to get a man on the moon or a spacecraft out of the solar system if they had the appropriate funding.
But would they retain their sense of humour?
The agency posted this press release on their website today to point out the similarity between a lump of rock the Messenger probe had photographed on Mercury and Han Solo after he was encased in carbonite by Jabba the Hutt in the Star Wars film The Empire Strikes Back.

NASA finds their mars rover actually putzin around the desert in area 51, all the while they thought it was suppose to be on mars
cody599
Well not really
But they did find an approximation and it at least shows NASA has a sense of humour

I thought I had seen that Han Solo image before somewhere...
Here it is embedded on the front of a fridge/freezer, pretty cool though...

Jeez it's only a bit of fun
You can find a spare sense of humour in your shiny new ATS locker
Use it wisely

Of course it's Pareidolia, but there's no reason to say NASA should know better. They are well aware that's what it is. They are just having some fun, so lighten up.

I think it looks nothing like Han Solo. I call pareilala or however it's spelt. It;s justa rock. NASA should know better.

Good spelling.
But I disagree, NASA don't have fun. They are a corporative entity not a mate down the pub. They made a public statement. It's political.
