Do you agree , or disagree with the article ?
If you agree , I would think you have an ax to grind against the Boomers. If you do just come out and say it.
You have every right to blame my generation for the worlds problems, I thought I did too .
Good luck with that, it doesn't change anything.

Do you mean the one in the OP? It's supposed to be a rant from Gen X to Gen Y. The only place it mentions boomers is to point out that the band Kraftwek were boomers and that they started electronic music.

I agree with the article wholeheartedly and I believe I have made that clear throughout my posts. You just keep on insisting that I need to suck it up and grow up et cetera.

If you take the article personally that's something you need to deal with. The article simply but boldly states that Gen X does not get the credit it deserves. God forbid some chap comes along and posts a nice little blurb about a slighted generation. You have people jumping up and down left and right saying we are all the things that you have typed. Your response will be get over it and suck it up that's not how the real world works. My stance on that to you sir is: It is not 1962 anymore. The overabundance of jobs and wealth have been deported to cheaper pastures under your watch. There is a continuous growing divide financially among classes. I believe I just read that this moment in time there is the biggest gap since the great depression. There is more then enough money in this country to go around. Unfortunately the boomers who hold a majority of that wealth are not doing what they should. They should give back like the greatest generation did. Not suck it dry with a shrug of the shoulder and a mumble of not my problem as you blame me and walk away.

The comments from the article above
have been scrubbed, but here is what
some Gen-x'ers had to confess after
reading it back in June of 2012.

The other nearby small towns fare no better with our age group, some are pure horror stories. The generations before and after us didn't have it this bad.. Even the old timers who have memories of the great depression looks at everybody in my age group with sadness and a bit of fear..

...or...

Three of my childhood pals committed suicide in the last year.
8 of my old classmates from our small town school system (24 for the whole class) have been maimed and disabled in these damned wars.
3 have died in these wars.
1 work related death, 2 of cancer, 1 of heart attack.
Many of us have been or are currently in prison.
Only 4 of us live a "normal respectable life".
Of those 4 only 2 can be considered financially secure.
I'm the only one who accepts that it is about to get MUCH worse.

Now here, a year and a couple of months later
we are being criticized for posting an article
that basically says, "we just shut our mouths
and move ahead, we're not into complaining."

Then When some members start with the
stopyerbitchen and we stand our ground,
we are going to be lectured.

So what are we generation X people supposed
to learn from this.

That the rest of you only respect those
who cry rivers of tears?

It seems one or ALL* of the generations still present...
Needs to somehow gather enough compassion/energy/focus/better planning to boost Future generations into better outcomes.
Otherwise from what 1 has gathered issues which can become burdens just continue to flow thru each generation & Species perhaps until somehow a MAJOR adjustment is made to encourage Species Generations prosperity in the future. Why @ the same time teaching future generations how to support one another better to avoid the issues/burdens...

not an easy task to overcome but also not impossible to achieve

Not quite Ophiuchus 13,

The following information may be readily discarded,
but I trust you enough to share it with. Don't take
it seriously just with a large dose of salt.

I've been researching the so-called subject of
generations for a while, and I traced it back through
American History. The following is what I found.

There are two distinct groups in America, and their
generations over-lap.

The Boomers are parents of Gen - Y
the genexers the parents of Millenials.

If one traces this back to the 1860's a remarkable thing
stands out.

Basically the Gen-x'ers are the desendants of the ones
who lost the civil war, and the Boomers of the ones'
who won it.

The reason that the Boomers refused to promote us
for 20 years and then reached over our heads and put
their own children into the top spots, even when they
had no experience is that this is the current final stab
at destroying our genetic line.

It's a quite holocaust.

Abortion was introduced and practiced heavily on us,
then for the Boomers kids it was lessened greatly.

The house flipping for profit that led to the housing
crash was timed perfectly to financially ruin one tiny
demographic, the gen-x'ers who were just getting
into the housing market in large numbers.

No wars for years and years, until the gen-x'ers are
the bulk of the military then suddenly back to back
invasions of countries that we don't keep or gain
resources from.

It's easy to think this is some x vs. y, or some kind of
y vs. z thing but it is not.

It is that last desperate attempt to erase the very people
who believe in a well informed public, real education in
the schools, and who have always been against rulership
by a small elite group who think they know what is best.

Please feel free to ignore everything I wrote.

Mike

Every generation blames the one before it, and every generation goes on a crusade to do better, and every generation eventually becomes that which they used to fight against. And yet things do ever go on.

Relax people! Things ain't as good as the TV and suits like to say, but things are not as bad either. Things are just a bit different. And its going to get even more different and even more bizarre as veils fall away and as things get more interesting. The only thing I can say for all generations--->Look to yourselves and you will likely find the problem, because every generation since the beginning of time was just full of itself and a problem with and in itself. But even that wont matter as time goes on. So chill, and do as you will do...After all what else would people do?

Its all so mysterious and mystical, who knew eh?
The dream if left untended, and sometimes even when left attendant, can and will slowly turn into a nightmare each and every time.

Obviously all you generations x or y or z or h or y or, boomer--> or any other letter of the alphabet and ridiculous nick name, will just have to get over yourselves and come to some sort of agreement or conclusion that you all just may be assholes and full of #.

Funny how dreams manifest themselfs into actual reality.
Oh and following song is not for those of virgin ears.

Uhhhh....my family fought for the Union and I'm Gen X. Guess that sums that up.

Aren't you the same guy from page one that accused millenials of building all the automation that is going to eventually squeeze out all the Gen X jobs? Last I checked, the CEOs of the automation companies are either Gen X or Boomer.

Well done!
The information was both taken with a large dose of salt,
and discarded. It's not often that someone follows directions
these days.

I was talking about idealism, more than flesh and blood.
About historical trends, philosophy, and the different
visions of the future that exist within America.

You mention that you too are Gen X.
And here you are on the conspiracy site,
keeping people honest, challenging anyone
who claims to have a corner on absolute truth.

I would be happy if someone simply defined what all these "generations" are, and who is and isn't part of them. What about those of us in between someplace? From what I understand, I don't fit in any of the categories.

I don't either. I'm at the ass end of Generation X and the beginning of Millenials. From what I have read Millenials are between the ages of 18 and 34.)

I think my little in between generation is just waiting for the world to end.

Here you go. As you can see nobody gets left out, even if you don't fit the stereotype of your generation.
Lost Generation: 1883-1900
G.I. Generation: 1901-1924
Silent Generation: 1925-1945
Baby Boomers: 1946-1964
Generation X: 1965-1981
Generation Y (Millenials): 1982-2004

Well, that's more inclusive than what I have seen in the past! The "baby boomers" were always described as "post WWII" babies. One of my parents fits that, barely, and the other is a little older. Well, was. "Gen X" was stated as a little later, when I read about it. Ah, well. Any reason they set those specific years? The baby boomers is post-war, which makes sense, but the rest?

As a side note, we get post-deployment baby booms now. Among military families, this is a very known phenomenon.

It seems to have started around world events.
Lost Generation: Young adults during WWI
G.I. Generation: Young adults during WWII
Silent Generation: Too young to have fought in WWII but lived through the depression
Baby Boomers: Born during a spike in the birth rate that had been declining since the turn of the century and continued to decline after the mid 60's
Generation X: Born after that boom
Generation Y (Millenials): Guess they just had to set a date to around 20 years after the first Gen Xers to continue the tradition.
