Hi! I'm new need help

I need help, I've been a lurker for years, but just now decided to join. Can someone tell me how to put an avatar using an ipad? I looked thru the tutorial but on the ipad I couldn't find a tool button.

Up above, you'll see an arrow button (more like a "v") right next to the "i" button (if the page is displayed properly). Press that arrow button, then more buttons appear. Press the "upload" button. That's where you can upload an avatar.

Once the picture is uploaded, press I believe the smilie face and it should be your avatar then. Did it on mine and it worked ok....

I hope your enjoy your time here. I am curious...I look at your avatar and (of course) I see an eye; but who is it an eye of and what is the strange looking brown stuff surrounding the eye?

My avatar is a painting my daughter did, I awsume the eye is blue because she has blue eyes, the rest I'm not sure. I'm going to ask her. What's really amazing is she did this painting using newspaper and spray paint.
