A Time Traveler's Friend Writing Contest [WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!]

Good evening fellow writers!

As promised, this month's writing contest is here. The theme of the contest, selected by last month's winner XxNightAngelusxX will be Time Travel & Friendship.



This contest is meant to be an open ended story. It can be fiction or non fiction. ( I guess non fiction would be a hell of a challenge )

The Contest will run from September 12th to October 13th At Midnight. Submissions entered after the close date will be disqualified.

Contest Rules & Guidelines

All T&CS Apply.

All entries MUST include TFWC in the title.

All entries must be linked in this thread.

There is no minimum or maximum character count.

All writing forms are acceptable.

3 single submissions per member. No part II's. They must be individual entries.

There will be 3 winners among members who already have "Writer" status. They will be judged separately from all other entries based on stars and flags received.

1st Place -- 5 Applause & next contest theme choice.**
2nd Place -- 3 Applause
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

There will also be 3 winners from the non-writer category who will receive the following, along with writer status:

1st Place -- 3 Applause
2nd Place -- 2 Applause
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

** As with the previous contest, the story with the most flags will receive the honor of choosing the October Writing Contest Theme.

Scoring

Flags will be worth 2 points each.
Stars will be worth 1 point each.

** Note that this is trial only and I may decide to go back to the original scoring method if I see too many issues.

I expect these entries will be sorta 'Doctor Who" esque and I would love to see a screenplay type submission, or a fan fiction story for example.

I had started a story somewhat along these lines a while back and posted it already. But the story is still a work in progress with a closure needed. Is it possible to resubmit the finished product as a whole?

Or would I have to start fresh?

Quick clarification - you said "open ended story" - would you please define that for me? Do you mean it should have an ending that leaves room for more story, or leaves a question-mark in the mind of the reader (i.e. did he make it??)? Thank you!!

You can submit that story, in a new thread with the tags. For obvious reasons I won't use the existing threads stars/flags during scoring.

It means, open ended in the sense that I'm not restricting character count, writing styles or anything else.

You can write it in any way, finish it in any way you like. So long as it's concise of course.

I confess that I have nothing of consequence to add, but I wanted to say that I love the avatar/background! ARCHER is my favorite

If I can think of anything I'll be sure to add it .. I am a software developer and I wrote a module for software called PHP Nuke, it was called "Never Ending Story" which is the same idea I think..

Members to the website where this was installed could contribute a paragraph or two to an existing story or they could create their own new story.. every member could contribute their own piece to it.. it was a lot of fun

It was my most successful piece of freeware.. tempted to re-write it for Joomla..

I had to condense the story somewhat but i intend on this being the first in a series... so anything i had to edit out i can cover later..

I really wanna participate in this story (like, you have no idea)... but I have issues to deal with. Job hunting and whatnot. I will do everything in my power to make an entry... and even if I can't swing it this time, I will DEFINITELY have one for Halloween. Halloween is my time.

Hi all!
Yay! Another contest!

I hope this is okay...I've decided to continue my original story (Roswell Baby) because I just love the characters, and I can nicely fit time travel into the scheme of things, lol.
It will likely become a trilogy, with Part 3 fitting into the Halloween contest.
It's being written as a continuation....with the title "Not the End". I will post the link shortly, need to get what I've got (so far) into a thread.
