Sorry I didn't see this one sooner.
But it would seem that Voyager has left the Heliosphere.

Get in and listen to the new conference.

It left quite a while ago.

From what I gather they thought it left but weren't sure.
Today's conference is to let us know that it absolutely did leave.
And some of what it is sending back.

My message to Voyager?

Great job dude. And Voyager, remember, just because you're old, doesn't mean you are not useful.

Engage!

I tried watching it, but was constantly interrupted by the kids. They're airing an encore at 4pm eastern, so I'll have to catch it again then.

Since nobody has yet mentioned specifically what this announcement was about, Voyager became the first man made craft to get to interstellar space, pretty awesome!

Krakatoa - not actually directed at you, I just clicked reply on your comment to get it posted.

But will it come back in 260 years looking for the Creator? We damn well better have a Captain Decker to save us from it!

I've been wondering how what we've learned from Voyager is going to influence what is done with Voyager 2 when it crosses into Interstellar space. Now that we know a few things we didn't expect out there, can we expect V2 to send back more finely tuned data and such?

Probably not.
Both craft are running out of power.
They have to keep on shutting off instruments to conserve power.
Eventually they will be dead in another 5-10 years.

Btw love your avatar.

Lol, that wasn't actually a literal question, it's a reference to the plotline in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

So do I! Sublimecraft created her for me
