It was, it was. I could totally see that the author of this piece knew the characters well. He portrayed a normally polite Obama as delicately snapping at Putin.

The New Yorker bit is very believable and that in itself is shocking. It reminded me of this clip. In both cases I was taken in, initially at least, before getting suspicious.

Wow, this was so funny. My friend and I were just talking about how much tension there would be at the G20, and it would be good to go on ATS to read the "non MSM" side of the story. The first post we picked up on was this, thought it outright unbelievable and then took the link , which was from the New Yorker.... and just split a gut laughing.

Why censor "jackass"? Jackass is the legitimate name of an animal. While its use in this context is figurative, it is appropriate. Its fictional use by Obama reflects his feelings that Putin is being stubborn, difficult to work with, and distasteful. These are the common traits of none other than the much despised and beloved jackass.

Also, it is widely known that jackasses are sensitive about their names. They, unlike many in our own culture prefer to not be spoken of in euphemism. So, have some respect and stop being racist against this magnificent and majestic animal.
