Sorry, on the road, just demo'ed a new overpass. I really love my job.....

Anyway, found this earlier...

enenews.com... essel-only-possible-outcome-cover-reactors-concrete-will-cen

"Japan Nuclear Expert: Simply impossible to remove melted fuel from Fukushima — Corium “has spread all over… could actually have gone through floor of containment vessel” — Only way to deal with these reactors releasing dangerous radiation is to cover in concrete — Will take centuries of work"

More at the link....

Z, this is one of those situations where I would have been far happier if all of us had been wrong.

at the risk of sounding ignorant...
how does corium "melt" through rock or ground matter?
is this a chemical thing like acid burning through substances?
or is this something completely different.

The corium was well over 1200C when it was in a melted state, this will melt through most silicates.

What it doesn't melt, it will find a way around.

apologies zworld, I am in the nw of England. I experienced the 86 fallout when out in the open with no shelter. it burnt my shoulders and ran me down for a good year. i'll never forget.
I have been taking readings now for several weeks and am in the process of finding a best practice with the kit. anything unusual I will post, however after looking at the Europe wind patterns after the story broke, I noticed the wind was not heading over to the uk (yet)!

Media Reports on Warm ‘Blob’ in Pacific Ocean Pretend It Can’t Be Related to Fukushima

By David Gutierrez
Global Research, April 28, 2015

Media outlets are widely reporting on two recent studies in the journal Geophysical Research Letters describing a giant “blob” of warm water that may be responsible for recent ecological and weather anomalies across the United States — from California’s drought to the East Coast’s severe winter to the thousands of dying sea lions washing up along the West Coast.

The “blob” — more precisely, the “warm anomaly” — is a patch of ocean water just off the coast of the Pacific Northwest that is about 1,000 miles across, 300 feet deep, and 3 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than usual. It received its nickname from Nick Bond of Washington State University, lead author of one of the new studies.

When Fukushima blew I knew very little about the nuclear business period. Now what I know troubles me deeply. And the fact that new plants are being constructed in the US after all that has happened troubles me even more.

Sometimes I wish things would go south and really blow up just to teach the human race a lesson, but then I quickly grab hold of myself and tell myself to shutup. The only hope we have is to keep the issue alive and hope that enough people wake up as we did.

I still wish I had taken the blue pill though.

I noticed from a map of dispersion from Chernobyl that the winds do a curlicue that blows your way. What is the latest on the fire. Havent heard lately.

officials are stating that the situation is 'contained'. I guess they missed m, a and t out of that word. it's approx. 2000km's from my location as if that makes any difference lol.
readings at the moment are within background parameters of 15 to 20 micro Sieverts per hour.

the authorities surrounding the area should be instructing residents on appropriate actions to mitigate any dangers.
looking at the footage, the bulk of the smoke seems low altitude, however it's anyones guess as to it's ultimate spread and settlement.
btw grandson 7 y/o insists I check him out when he catches me taking readings!

In March the level of nitrogen was 28.19 and since injection was suspended (#4) this must be the amount that was last used before suspensions. This nitrogen injection process is still suspended, but the amounts have changed to 27.46. #3 states that flow rate values are adjusted according to usage conditions. If they are no longer injecting nitrogen why would they change the amount reading for usage conditions.

Plus the readings for the “Outlet flow from PCV gas control system” measuring nitrogen is also changed.

None of this makes much sense. Of course what else is new.

At least the page is in English again.

All of this actually proves that everything coming out of Tepcon (my version) is a complete fabrication. The only way we will ever see any real data, is if someone with an outside agenda and perspective is allowed to take over these operations, and that ain't gonna happen unless things really spiral out of control and Tepcon is not given any choice in the matter.

It's like trying to drive a car on the moon by remote control, using data that's made up by someone else, the car will just be driving around in circles or just random ways.

If I was living in Japan right now Id be really concerned. Three volcanoes are showing signs of erupting including one not too far from Fukushima Daiichi. Plus the recent EQ 5.0 just offshore of Fuku reminds us of that threat.

Of course I live on top of the locked point for the whole Cascadia Subduction Zone in an area that could go volcanic as well so being concerned comes naturally.

ON EDIT: As an aside, the english page for reactor data is back to being in Japanese. They must have slipped up two days ago when it was in english again. Shows how easy it would be to have it in english but I guess expecting the english pages to be in english is too much of a bother for those hard working TEPCOites.

ON EDIT 2: This is to me a clear indication that something is cooking underground as both unit 1 and 2 are feeling the heat if these readings are right. Check out the two pages below. Unit 1 has started to go up, but not just one of the sensors this time, all of them. And unit 2 has started to go up at the exact time that 1 makes its biggest jump, though not nearly as much as 1.

If 1 keeps going up TEPCO will probably announce that the sensors (all of them?) are defective.

The latest species to find the waters off our coast unliveable, purple sailors jellyfish, are showing up in massive numbers. Billions. Its been happening for awhile but finally made ENE.

These beautiful blue creatures can often be seen washing up in small numbers after a strong onshore wind, but this is insane. They are litterally covering whole beaches from one end to the other. Of course no media is mentioning radiation with this latest die-off, just like all the others.

They started turning up in Washington last month and now they are coming ashore from Baja to Alaska.

I no longer walk on the beaches like I used to because Ive grown tired of seeing dead creatures whether its a jellyfish, urchin or whale.

ON EDIT: I should add that there are also species dying off that happen only here or there and havent been making the news at all. Last fall on only one local beach thousands of small crabs washed ashore, but since it only happened here, and because like the sailors a small number often does wash ashore, no one reported it.

The eastern Pacific is dying my friends, right before our eyes.

Okay, sitting here thinking about how the planet works and themal energy transfered to the pacific ocean. How many volcanos erupts thoughout the world during a particular year?

Earth is used to dealing with heat changes.

Earth has no defense for radiation.

That's the killer....

I wish that were the case, and if it were just temperature that we were dealing with it might be true. But when one adds acidification, microplastic pollution and radiation to the discussion it becomes a one, two, three punch knockdown. Thats the problem with life right now. We are suffering from the cumulative impacts of numerous toxic manipulations on our planet, and none of its good in the long run.

The earth will survive, but like the Permian Triassic extinction event, it may take millions of years.

Our job as I see it is to prevent the onslaught in any way we can while making others aware in a way that enlightens them and not frightens them. And there lies the rub.

Pretty much just a PR piece for their bots, but theres one shot inside containment that shows the faint gold green coloring on the underside of a pipe in the air which suggests to me that those are extremeophiles at work. I wish they would pursue that concept as it would, as F said, be the first time weve seen them in action in this kind of environment.

Oh yeah, it will be millions of years to recover, but the heat is something the earth is used to dealing with. Radiation, made by man? Yeah, not so much.

I would dearly love for tepco and the nuclear industry as a whole to at least consider the validity of ideas on the link above.
if for example tepco could take the opportunity to at least try out some of the concepts (sad to say but the conditions are perfect), it would at the very least show they are thinking outside the box and from my perspective salvaging some nanocredibility.

F, that's the first time I've ever heard of Brown's Gas. Is it oxyhydrogen with something added. And I'm amazed that it can not only reduce radiation drastically, but it can fuel cars by reacting water. Trippy stuff.
