How can I make the font and everything smaller?

Press ctrl and - at the same time.

I tried it, it made the text too small.

The most annoying thing about the new style is that it's like reading books made for kids, or some school learning page for under 5's.

Apart from that, it's smoother in some ways and faster.

My biggest (only?) problem with it was the size - but zooming out fixed that (at least in Chrome on the Mac). Fonts are still readable and it "feels" much more like the old site.

I still need to reserve judgement on it, though - at first I was like "wowww", then I was like "errmm", then I was like "hmmm", then I was like "ahaaa". Still need to use it for a bit...

Why didn't we say back in beta testing?

Because most of us weren't aware, not all of use bother with the U2U system.

A certain % of people come onto the site, browse subjects that interest them, post and then leave.

The 1st time I even knew of this new design was when I 1st came on 30 or so mins ago, myself like many others in this situation do not like what we've been lumbered with.

Our concerns are NOT petty, remember without us the users, there is NO ATS.

I have only 1 word to describe the new look....KLUDGE. I don't like it at all. Can we get an option to use the old look instead?

Skep, I can't figure out why my meteorite in my avatar is repeated at the bottom in my background image? Plus, the images in the background are all moved around, which might be my problem? Any advice?

All I had to do was make it a bit smaller and now I like it a bit more.

Nope. The people who use this site the most often can suck it and stop being so petty.

Its not like their imput means anything. You know- the very same people who made the site
so popular in the first place.

Basics- get it right- thats all I ask. then I will be ... unless that is too much to ask.

Yes that what I would like too. The option for "tighter" design like the old one was.

The percentage of people comfortable with the rigid/tight discussion board format is decreasing, while the percentage of people accustomed to the more open sensibilities of contemporary flat design is increasing. It's a clearly quantified (and has been) fact of life for online operators.

Do you have any stats for this? How much tablet traffic and phone traffic you get these days?

I don't mind the new format much at all. It is different. But I am also a Sagittarius so I am adaptable. Btw, I use a PC, laptop, Android tablet, and Android phone.

What is my way above top secret score? How is it determined? Ditto concerning my oddly calculated karma score? Should I desire these numbers to be high or low?

And please don't tell me if you tell me then you have to kill me.

ATS is in very real danger of losing a large % of their users due to all this and the calls of our concerns being petty/pathetic only adds to all the bad feeling.

Like I have said, I do not mean to be rude or insulting I only mean to be honest.

Massive thumbs down with all this I am afraid... without a classic site design I see many, including myself calling it a day at ATS.

Slightly over 30%.

I'm exhausted and will be taking a break. Some staff members will be taking over to confirm which issues need attention.

In the mean time, if you resize your browser window the site automatically "tightens" a bit. I'll see about making it an option in account settings in the near future.

It looks good on my PC and my iPad, I wish they would put a "top" button on here tho, it takes forever to get back to the top especially on the iPad!!

I thought it was better at first but now I have a headache from eye strain.

I gave my 2 cents at beta stage too but it was ignored.

I like ATS but the new style is not user friendly for pc's.

I am using Chrome on my Vaio laptop, ATS setting at desktop but it still feels like it was meant for a phone or tablet.

A choice of style would be good, or even a revised desktop version.

Massive font and space wasting. A 3 line post takes up a whole page.

I still love it as much as I did testing it in beta tests...Great job! At least I think so.
Accept for the emocons....which I know people are working on

I would definitely recommend a cache clean, and not just your usual ctrl/f5 clean, for those people who are having issues with the site on win based pc's.
I like the new layout as it happens, everything is still there lol, just use the drop down arrow and you will find most of what you are looking for, if not all

Yeah boss, that's pretty much straight up impossible.

I've been testing the site for months now and I've never had any slow downs or crashes or anything of that matter, that wasn't explained by either an add one, or a lack of updates to either services like flash, or video card drivers.

My flash is up to date (11,8,800,94 installed), video drivers up to date as always and no plugins.
Also, no viruses or malware.
As I stated in my closed thread the only change I made was to refresh the open ATS tabs so they assumed the new look.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Care to enlighten me as to the "REAL reason" or are you just being a douche? The reason you have in mind is obviously different than mine.
I was posting it cause it's an ISSUE I'm having with the new look!

And if you're thinking it's cause I don't like the new look, you're goddam right I don't! I said in another closed thread I don't mind the colors and layout, it's the size of the icons and text I don't like.

I assume you think that since I have a problem with the look I would make up some BS so as to make ATS look bad or something? I don't know what you think, but that is not the case.

I'd certainly like to hear what you think the real reason is I'm posting my issue and seeking some help.

Certain users, those using ipads and mobile devices have clearly been the targets for the new site design.

Nevermind the hardcore % of users who have been here years and use pc's.

Like you I am using chrome, the text and boxes etc are far too distanced and the overall colours and design is actually giving me a migrane.

Ok I understand that you've been working your bumm off for this.
I do know that you can change font size in browser and resize the browser however I have ATS on one tab and other sites open at the same time. I dont wanna waste space and compromise other sites I use at the same time.

i had hoped it would be better, i was wrong.
it's just a ugly mess.

and those god awful smiley's.

so far it seems that there are more complaint's than cheering.
and yet just like obama, this administration, goes on and does what it wants over what it's member's want.

change is not all ways a good thing.

i guess it's to the site that shall not be named for me.

If by large % you mean losing 2 or 3 whiners, well then I guess so. You expect some man who owns a substantial site to bow to your wants and totally disregard how the internet and web interfaces NEED to accommodate for technology? Think about what you are asking this person to do with his own site.
