Syrian chemical weapons official has defected from Assad regime

www.telegraph.co.uk

Abdultawwab Shahrour, who was the civilian in charge of the programme's medical and forensic science department, was due to give a press conference in Istanbul, Turkey, base of the Syrian National Coalition, on Tuesday afternoon.

First it says he is a civilian, then that he was working direct with Assad regime.

Either way, this is some very convenient timing for this expert in Chemical agents, who was supposedly has inside information about not the recent attack, but the one back on March 19th.

The Obama administration could use all the help they can get to convince the American people Assad is directly responsible; however, even if he is I'm sure the American people still don't want to intervene.

Ahh, not this old chestnut.

Remember the Iraqi defector in 2003 (codenamed "Curveball") who convinced the WH that Saddam had WMD's and then later admitted bullshipping about the whole thing.

www.theguardian.com...
www.freerepublic.com...

These people just don't know when to give up do they.

Then again, a dying animal will always become most savage just before death.

The level of Propaganda runs strong with this mob......give it up fools (that includes you NSA), you have been found lying at every turn.

We are on to you.........BIG TIME.

I believe that Syria's Chemical Weapons programs are overseen by a "Civilian" branch stemming from medical organizations. I believe this was to make the appearance of a bit of separation between the weapons and the government.

Pending the credibility of the individual, hopefully he clears some issues up, however seeing that he has ended up in Turkey makes me believe his revelations will be in support of U.S/Western concerns.

Exactly, I was actually in the midst of researching into that.

Won't be the first person to come out and start pointing out imaginary missile sites....

Argh I hate the feeling that there is no longer any credible sources anymore.

Of course he defects. Hes going to change hats now that he realizes that the US most likely will get involved, regardless of what Congress says.
We all know what happened to Ghadaffi's loyalists and kin. The one or two that didnt flee to Algeria are no longer with us. Most likely tortured and executed, just like Ghadaffi was.
The people that think Assad would really risk western intervention by gassing a few civilians are really naive.

Do you not believe that the "Rebels" would sacrifice a few civilians in order to get help from the West?
The same Rebels that are seen in literally hundreds of videos, executing civilians in the street? I saw one video where they shot a man in civvy clothes, so many times in the head with an AK that his skull was completely destroyed and his brain rolled out of what was left of his head.
Not to mention the countless beheadings, especially the beheading of the priest, whos only crime was that he remained neutral in the war.

You want us to help these guys, is that what you guys are saying?

Remember the fake girl crying about the babies being tossed out of incubators in Kuwait?
How would it be remotely possible to even verify this man's background?

How convenient.
Timing wise.

They left it a little late to come out with this rubbish. There is so much evidence of chemical weapon use by the rebels /alciada .

I found a few more articles with evidence that havent been discussed yet that clearly show the rebels are able to obtain Sarin gas. more evidence of rebel chemical weapon use

They are just trying to sway public opinion. I am expecting some kind of false flag pretty soon. My guess would be in France.

I wonder if there was a financial incentive provided by the "People Behind The Curtain" which caused him to defect to Turkey?

As another member has pointed out, this is very similar to "curve ball" and falls right into play with John Kerry's recent announcements about having "proof".

Maybe this will be the proof/propaganda that will be used to justify a strike while they all gather at the G-20 in Russia where they are trying to gain support for this war that has been planned for over a decade.

I just wish this would all go away, but I know better, this is just getting started

Obama can just give up now. We don't need more salesmen defected out of Syria to hit the talk show circuit in support of mass murder in yet another nation.

Fact #1. Syria has attacked no outside nation.

Fact #2. Other nation's internal business is no business of ours.

Fact #3. Without the provocation of attack on an OUTSIDE nation? Every life we contribute to taking is murder. period.

It isn't war. At best, it's Syria's CIVIL and INTERNAL war..which can never be our war. It makes initiating one absolutely no better than what Hitler did to Poland.

We've truly become what we once fought.

Convenient indeed. A civilian wouldnt know anything, and the UN concluded that attack was by the rebels right? Are we trying to debunk the UN now?

I don't think any stunts are going to lull the people back to bed on this one.

#1 they used chemical weapons on their own citizens

#2 They broke laws made after WWI banning the use of chemical weapons. Only Hitler and Saddam before Assad broke that law among civilized nations.

#3 This point allows Assad to gas his own people as long as he don't gas his neighbors. Your morality was just lost and you have no ground left to stand on.

When he used chemical weapons he opened the door to retaliation from all nations who signed the agreements banning the use of chemical weapons. His regime's actions are the same as if he bombed every nation that signed those agreements.
