That and the fact Jesus said his message was for the people of Israel only!!!!

Then the Book of Revelations comes along and gives that outdated rag of a book its power over the world populace. And then follows the Inquisition. Destroy anything that can bring the bible into disrepute....like that isn't obvious enough that the book is flawed.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Then explain "Elohim".

"Elohim" meaning plural persons of God as you claim is a teaching from the Kabbalah. Non-Kabbalah Jews and one God Christians have always taught that "Elohim" is used for God's multiple attributes, not multiple god persons. Multiple god persons contradicts the Bible's teaching of one God.

I do not see it taught there.

As you imply, He personally takes care of you as a child. Well, what about the other millions of children throughout the world in desperate need of god's direct intervention???

An excellent response which few xtians will "open their minds" to give the problems you raised reasoned consideration.

I do think Sam Harris does one hell of a job slapping the xtians most revered appologist Bill Craig, into humiliation on this matter.

Even though you used the word 'logical' within an insane premise, I will remain calm. God has people stop over to give you food? You must be very special then, because your god seems to be ignoring these children:

If you respond to this, SOTL, please don't try to justify it by it saying that children starve because we humans aren't feeding them. My response is only related to your idea that god directly intervenes on your behalf. He intentionally moves people to bring you food. As you imply, He personally takes care of you as a child. Well, what about the other millions of children throughout the world in desperate need of god's direct intervention???

Please PLEASE consider these points:

1. Are you implying that your god considers you more deserving than these children?
2. If your god DOES take care of you while ignoring the cries of millions of babies, why aren't you insane with rage at your god over this?
3. How could you eat such a gift from god while knowing that some children will actually DIE of starvation before you finish your heaven-sent meal?

Why can't you see that there is NOTHING logical about your belief. Why can't you see that this belief is utterly and irrefutably insane?

This is the mark of the sickness in human society. I am sorry that some are not helped as they should be and that both education and distribution on this planet does not work because of greed.

There is no problem feeding all humans on this planet and letting all have a nice comfortable life. The problem is humanities acceptance of things that should not be accepted. This is a sign for change but humanity do not want to do the right thing. Giving more fruits to humanity as a whole only spoils the greedy even more.

These people should have food, houses and contraceptives too limit overpopulation.

That's nice... I consider the bible a book written by men with agendas... Only four books are necessary... the rest is nothing more then a great story based on myths from other cultures

And Paul...

Sounds to me like you choose what you want from the bible. Thats not Christianity.

Bingo!

Lol. Have you ever been able to open the mind on a Paulist so they lose the log? If you have then I would be amazed to hear how you did it.

No chance... humans will survive... we always have and always will... until the time our sun consumes the last bit of its fuel

Something will survive. But will it be human (homo sapiens sapiens) as we define it. Sometimes evolution (controlled evolution) takes a leap.

yup...

Point out the lie... then they question his writing

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Though it rarely happens, theres been a few people I've talked to about Paul who didn't trust his words once they looked deeper...

Most blessed, and most BALANCED, are those who reject both extremes of religions and atheism. A plague on both their houses! Those who have at least a hint of a clue CAN connect with the IU (intelligently unseen) and receive spiritual fulfillment and guidance WITHOUT the brainwashing dogma, doctrine and SLAVERY of mere Earthly organizations, or anything else that simply has a name. It's all about having the HONESTY (what a concept) to admit that no one ACTUALLY knows the real truth about the IU, and all about the DESIRE for higher consciousness, knowledge, experience, MEANING than is allowed by the existing (secrecy-based) political world. Only those who HAVE said desire know what I'm talking about; to everyone else it will not register. Interesting how religious people often claim they're "only IN this world, not OF it" when everything they are and believe is entirely of this political world ONLY. Talk about ignorance and hypocrisy.

Sad to say but you bible thumpers wouldnt know LOGIC & FACT if it walked up and smacked you upside the head. You repeatedly suspend reality and logic in your arguements. Most of you ignore the basic flaws the Bible has and the contradictions. Here's an abstract thought. Take some responsability for you lives and actions. Stop giving credit to God for the good stuff and blaming the devil for the bad.....REALITY, you know, where us Atheist's live.

For once I would like to see a bible thumper not side step the bibles contradictions with the blanket statement God wants it that way, it test's or faith. Or simply ignore the blantant contradictions. A book ,written by MAN and we all know what lieing bastards man can be. Gotta go now, reality says I have to work and earn some money. God shot me down on that loan, devil did too. And for Pete's sake, please don't respond to my post with a bible passage. Lay me out some FACTS & LOGIC that are realistic and do not suspend reality as we know it.

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to Him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to Him and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel.

25 The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.” 27 “Yes, Lord,” she said, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

27 Then Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Like you said....more holes than swiss cheese.

So when Elohim said:

"Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever "

By "Us", He really meant "like my many attributes"? Thats a pretty flimsy argument.

No, the "us" would be God and the angels. The angels were not gods, but they did know good and evil like God.

God speaking to another god, as you claim, would be polytheism.

Thank you. Every time I see a reply from someone that completely breaks through the insane beliefs, I imagine hearing crickets afterwards. I imagine this because I have never seen a believer respond in a way that makes sense: There's never a comment of, "Wow, I never of it that way." Or, an acknowledgement that they are willing to rethink what they're believing. If they do comment it's only to switch topics or verbally assault the original poster. It's truly sad that mankind can be sooo stuck in a delusion and soooo afraid to look at the insanities of it.

So would I be correct in assuming that you reject the divinity of Jesus as a doctrine?

You would be incorrect in your assuming. Jesus Christ is the one and only God.
