Oh, I beg to differ about protest, that is, if you're willing to give your life. It WILL, I strongly believe paid attention to, on the mall, in front
of the Monolith of the White House......Millions of Americans turning up there, unnannounced, very little time for authorties to prepare, would make
quite a statement. Make sure you have all the usual MSM tipped off at the last moment. Especially if you can get some in Congress and the wealthy
to respond, as well, which you just might, as this war will not benefit them, really, either. Perhaps I am naive, but we do not belong in Syria. And
I don't think there are many who would dispute that, just for the fact, we cannot afford to rush into some judgement again, not knowing causally what
is happening there, or where said "chemical weapons" attack originated from. Reading about it, the area it occurred in, close to the "palace" does
not seem a target Assad would have chosen, and has no military benefit, so in a sense, a huge impromptu protest like this, would call their bluff, if
indeed, it has happened with our government's endorsement or participation.
I'm not saying the response won't be something like Ohio during Viet Nam. One must always be prepered for that....open fire. Sure, it's going to
happen, likely, again, in this country. But we do a lot of speculating here, and watching and speculating more. I would go; I simply don't have a
way to get there. I would bet there are many who would go just to see avoiding our involvement in another Afghanistan, to up the poppy growth and
output, while in this country you are sent to prison for years for possession of the distillation of the plant, and what that traffic does for this
country, under the radar, while it reinforces and pays for a prison system, a judicial system, etc. I am not defending heroin addiction, but let's
face it: this is part and parcel of the set up it is to be American, and part of why we are so hated as a population in other countries, that deal
with the side effects of producing such, while factions within our government use it as political currency, and that includes marajuana and Mexico,
coc aine and Columbia, need I go on?
Why would we go to Syria? We're going to rid another country of an "evil dictator" and "spread freedom?" After Assad is gone, who will we back? How
long will we be there, after we supply the "surge" and they have their "spring," and CNN and all other "news agencies" leave, like they have had to in
Egypt, while we have absolutely no idea what is happening next?
I'm not defending Assad, the rebels, hell if I know what's really going on there, but I also don't have all that much faith that "my country" does,
either, or has no involvement in getting it to this point, and that in the end, it has absolutely nothing to do with destabilizing the Middle East and
breaking up OPEC..........
Sorry, little bit of a rant there. See my signature: that's all the faith I have. It's a display at this point, and the poeple who want to live
violence free always pay......them, and of course, our troops, who just about lose their minds being there for years with an unclear, unstated,
undoable purpose and agenda........that always seems more predicated on unhinging more, unsettling more, instituting more control, more in your face
whatever, just to prove who is in charge. At the least, Congress should agree with a vote. There should be evidence. There should be UN backing, or
some backing from other countries, along with evidence.......
No more WMD panic and no WMDs........
Who will take control when we've "freed" them? Really? We either don't understand the severely divided tribal, religious factions, or we do, go in
there, and leave them to destroy each other, with our troops sitting ducks for years with no choice but being blown up by IEDs without proper
protection, etc.......
