So this album came out about a month or so ago but I just finally gave it a listen yesterday. It has already jumped up to my favorite album of the
year. For those who haven't heard of the album it was a project put together by the guys over at OverClocked Remix. It
takes the legendary compositions Nobuo Uematsu wrote for Final Fantasy VI and has fans remix them in some really creative ways. For example, one of
the earliest tracks takes the classic victory fanfare and turns it into a Slowdive-esque shoegaze song. The standout track though has to be "The
Impressario." It takes one of the music from one of the most famous scenes in video games, the opera house scene, and reimagines it as if it were a
Queen song. Even if you're not in to video games or video games music I guarantee you will find something you like in this 6 hour masterpiece.
