The cars from my youth :)

I don't know about the rest of you petrolhead car fanatics but I can't help thinking if I was born 20 or 30 years later I wouldn't have been so inspired by the cars I'd have seen around me.i.e Ford Mondeos,Vauxhall Vectras,Toyota Avensis,Nissan Primera or Renault Lagunas.

Now I know these are everyday cars but it WAS the everyday cars I saw around me as a kid that fired the real passion for cars that still exists today - cars like Ford Cortinas mk2 & mk3's,Escort mk 1,2's,Vauxhall Viva HB's and Victors,Rover 2000's and Austin Cambridge/Morris Oxford's.

So here's a few pics of some of these cars,hope you enjoy them and feel like mentioning/posting the cars of your youth

Had a mk3 XR3i,mk3 RS1600i and the mk3 series 1 turbo,,the rs turbo was an awesome car and more powerful than the rs1600i but the rs1600i was a faster car on the road though cos it revved harder and had a wider powerband

Yeah,I had an avenger,manta,ascona and a mk2 escort too,,am 41 in 6 weeks time so already feel old

I was a complete Ford head until I had a shot of an Mk2 Astra GTE,after that I had a long love affair with Vauxhall/Opel particularly Cavalier SRis and GSis

This was my first car.. My family was very poor and while this was in bad condition, I managed to get it running for awhile

1972 Fiat Spider


My second car came with more power. I had this most of my way through college

1970 Impala


I had several in between cars to include several motorcycles but this is one I bought right out of the Marines and remains my favorite car

1985 Camaro Berlinetta


These are just stock pics of the cars as I have none of the actual vehicles.. My Camaro had "T" Tops and silver accents

Aha, don't be so hard on the ol' Hunter, there is one like this getting 12sec passes at the Motoplex. Taken care of, they are a real gem too.

My 1st car the power house that was the austin morris marina 1.3 mind you it never let me down



2nd car was a datsun cherry 140y which was a rotbox but reliable


3rd car was another datsun this time a cherry 120A FII in bright yellow. Unfortunately although fun to drive it was not so reliable.
