New Details Show Broader NSA Surveillance Reach

The National Security Agency—which possesses only limited legal authority to spy on U.S. citizens—has built a surveillance network that covers more Americans' Internet communications than officials have publicly disclosed, current and former officials say.

The system has the capacity to reach roughly 75% of all U.S. Internet traffic in the hunt for foreign intelligence, including a wide array of communications by foreigners and Americans.

Very curious.

Here is a pretty well established mainstream media article that spells out, in no small order, what the NSA is up to, at least as far as the Wall Street Journal can ascertain.

On Reality Remix, one of the subjects that we've really been pounding on is media complicity in the invasion of privacy on the part of our supposedly benevolent government, and the general conclusion has been that, while they pay some lip service to privacy, they then deflect toward issues of legality that have nothing to do with the issue at hand.

There is a fantastic interactive media piece in the article, titled "How the NSA Scours Internet Traffic in the U.S.", which can serve as a neophyte introduction to this subject for those who aren't technically literate.

But, ultimately, it begs the question... what is the Wall Street Journal doing, publishing this? Do we have some journalistic integrity still remaining? Or is this another slant on the agenda?

I believe that the NSA was not planing to do a fill scale spying on the American people and did not to the point of where there was a overlap in them tracking outside agents and looking for terrorist.
But they found they had to record a lot of Americans just to pick up small amounts of outside agents and terrorist traffic.

But i do believe also that once the system was up and running someone in the Obama administration started to have more and more data recorded for there own use.
And more and more had nothing to do with outside agents and terrorist traffic.

Power corrupts, Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

How much have they been spying on the GOP just to throw the next election for the democrats.

Did Hillery Clinton quit as Secretary of State so she would not be caught in the NSA Scandal that as Secretary of State she would have known about or should have known about.
