My concern is that, at some point, it will be decided that as we have troops in the region to send them in. Let Syria & Egypt implode, if we were in the midst of another civil war no one would rush to assist us in any way other than to potentially seize control.

Send the US military... who are, for the most part, patriotic and love this country... all around the world, away from home. Arm the police with military grade equipment and have them keep the populace at home in check.

Remember... the military is bound by the Constitution. Law enforcement has much broader scope of authority.

I don't believe anything the Obama admin says about Syria. Can we believe Russia? I don't know. We need to *stay out* of this Syrian problem. We can't afford another war. Not in lives, not in money. Russia has already stated that they will block a UN No Fly Zone over Syria. I believe Russia will also block UN intervention. Does this mean that NATO will go it on their own? That might mean S-300/S-400 SAMs being launched at US and Brit aircraft by Russian-advised missile crews.

Does that mean World War 3? Just say *no* to intervention in Syria!

You know, I saw that video earlier.. and here is the thing...

That is obviously not a fixed camera, so it did not just happen to catch a rocket being fired.

It was almost as though the cameraman was waiting for it. Now without knowing if that was the only rocket fired from that location, we do not know if the person filming was waiting for "another rocket" or just got extremely lucky.

Without context .. it is just hard to say.

Do I think this event has been faked.. no

Do I have an opinion on who did it.. not yet, still sifting.

Do I think we should be involved beyond humanitarian aid.. hell no.

If what the OP claims is true, this is kinda a big deal.. I wonder why it's not getting very much attention. I also wonder when the lamestream media will pick it up.. Seems kinda weird.

It's all over the news. Yahoo, Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS, etc. It's just not being made out to be the atrocious tragedy that it is.

Interesting. I don't see it on Yahoo or CNN yet, of course I am just front-page surfing. I haven't checked the rest but I'll take your word for it.

Edit: Ha! I see.. on CNN they have an article named "Syria rebels big problem: U.S. trust" Which doesn't say jack in that title when it comes to this.. but when you click on it..

Washington (CNN) -- The Obama administration is likely to come under new pressure to take more decisive steps in Syria following opposition claims that Bashar al-Assad's government used chemical weapons to kill hundreds of people.

The UN Security Council is meeting at 3 PM EST to discuss this incident.

I have Reuters up right now, going to keep my eye on it and see what develops. Could be a rather heated debate between the US and Russia as to who is to blame for the attack, if what has been reported, casualty wise, is true.

According to this artice in the The Telegraph (UK) there is no appetite for U.S. to get involved.

US 'will not intervene in Syria as rebels don't support interests', says top general
The US will not intervene in the Syria conflict because it does not believe anti-Assad rebels would support American interests, its highest ranking military officer wrote in a letter to a congressman.

There we go, thanks. That one reads more true to the actual situation at hand.

Edit: Although who knows which side actually did it... Either way it's a sad sad situation no matter how it's spun.

I've been following this all day, noting the bodies and what not. There are no signs of blunt trauma, or other wounds that would account for the deaths being caused by something other than poison or poison gas/nerve agents.

If this is supposed to be a 'proxy war', someone went way too far. (IMO it's not, but still.)

It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few days.

Precisely. No one has accepted responsibility, probably because of the international backlash they'd receive. It's bad enough to unleash chemical weapons on a foreign enemy but on your own people? Serious mental issues.

If, whoever, is lobbing chemical weapons around there, it's just one more good reason to not send our sons and daughters over there.

But, you know, our idiot politicians will see it as a way to distract us to what their doing in our own country, to its own citizens.

WW3 - great distraction to the coming economic collapse.

God - why can't you just come down and rid the world of the people who want to hurt eachother - and leave us peaceful peoples all over the world alone.

God's answer,
Those who do, have turned themselves away from me.
I am not up there, but in the heart of every human being, while most listen to their heart, many listen to the devilish warmonger.

I wouldn't be surprised.. the odd thing is that in this forum I've heard countless complaints how these events don't make the mainstream media, same with the NSA stuff but what I'm starting to see is just the opposite .. could that be because of the recent government man-handling of the guardian?

I think the last group you really want to mess with is the media as a whole .. they ultimately decide your public appearance and what is known.. and you can't just make an entire news organization vanish... I honestly think a few governments are rattled and don't quite know how to handle it.
