You obviously havent read the entire thread or you seriously lack reading comprehension skills because you completely missed the point or you just didnt want to see it but whatever.
People on here are all for free speech and so forth until someone excercizes that right about something they dont agree with and then its fire them, send them to prison with the pedo, hang em etc..
Lol, so many hypocrites on here, at least im consistent.

I find it very disturbing that the articles state this was a "relationship" umm the kid was 13, so unable to consent into a relationship with an adult. I agree with others there seems to be a push for pedophiles "oh but they cared so much" "they really regret it, blah blah" Scary it's all so similar to Brave New World where sex was taught early and everyone "belonged to everyone".

I agree however that the teachers who sided with the bastard shouldn't be fired. I think they have the law on their side, they are scum but technically did nothing illegal (unless they can prove exactly who vandalized the property). However I fully support and suspect that parents won't allow their children to be in said teachers classroom. I wouldn't and I bet that the backlash will see most of these teachers quitting their jobs.

The supporters are sick in the head. The rapist is just that......a rapist he deserves his time behind bars and his supporters deserved to be shunned by their town and society as a whole. It is not okay to hurt children, there is no such thing as consent with a 13year old.

every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
no one is saying the exercise of their 1st amendment is wrong as much as they are saying a reaction is imminent and it shouldn't be toward the victim or his family or their property.

however, i still suggest that those 'supporting' this criminal should be looked at with a fine tooth comb and appropriate actions be taken, even if it includes firing them.

Parents have been threatening for weeks to pull their children out of the district if the teachers weren’t fired. Several said Tuesday they now will.

Board members said the threat weighed heavily them as they prepared to make a decision. The cash-strapped district will lose $7,000 in state aid for every student who leaves.

“Our students are our foremost concern and the board is not willing to mortgage the future education of our students,” the board said in a statement after a closed session

Detroit News

Repeat their mantra,

district will lose $7,000 in state aid for every student who leaves

Our students are our foremost concern

district will lose $7,000 in state aid for every student who leaves

Our students are our foremost concern

district will lose $7,000 in state aid for every student who leaves

Our students are our foremost concern

The tax money is the peoples and the children are the peoples, every parent of that school should pull their kid to teach them bastards a lesson on what foremost concern really means.

yeah but the parents can pull their kids and basically shut down the school and loose these people their jobs for defending the molestation of a child.not to mention the fact that some one burned down the victims family home,i wanna see all these people on the street and homeless for defending a pedo teacher, hope the district and the union get sued so all these people loose their pensions. and to try to treat it like they are only focusing it on the teacher because he was gay is bull, molest a child loose your job who cares what gender you or they were we dont want pedophiles in our schools, when did the schools turn into the catholic diocese?

edited to add and yes you can fire people for their personal beliefs as long as they are not part of a protected class ie you can fire some one for voting for other political party if you really want to in an at will state(not saying its right mind you but it is LEGAL) and as this could loosely be tied to political views(they could be part of nambla)so i can see them being legaly terminated for voicing controversial political views while employed by the district if it so chose

Michigan does not have the death penalty. When MI became a state in 1837, it did have the death penalty until it was abolished in 1846. Though treason against MI did hold a death sentence into that to was repealed in 1963.

No person in Michigan has received the death penalty since the law was abolished in 1846.

www.detroitnews.com...|topnews|text |FRONTPAGE well seems that the parents will most likely be pulling their children from the school district for their safety

Parents have been threatening for weeks to pull their children out of the district if the teachers weren’t fired. Several said Tuesday they now will. “My kid is not up for debate. Her sexual being is not up for debate,” said one parent, Michelle Morgan of Lupton. Parents said they are considering home schooling or switching their students to a fledgling charter school in a nearby town. Board members said the threat weighed heavily them as they prepared to make a decision. The cash-strapped district will lose $7,000 in state aid for every student who leaves. From The Detroit News: www.detroitnews.com...
so looks like they may have dodged legal issues but they wont doge the economic ones

Board member Mike Eagan, whose wife is one of the six teachers, abstained. At one point, Robert Homan spoke in support of the teachers, saying past relationships between teachers and students never drew this type of response. From The Detroit News: www.detroitnews.com...
so the teachers knew of other "relationships" between teachers and students and did nothing......what the hell is wrong with this school district

theconservativetreehouse.com... -who-was-president-of-the-michigan-teachers-union-and-even-now-supported-by-the-teachers/ video of mother speaking at this link

mbd.scout.com... message board containing links to the letters requesting leniency,

and from earlier links it clarifies that this happend back in 2006 or so and that it had been covered up until some one sent in an annonmous photo to the district...... and wait if the teacher is gay and not bi why was he diddling a little male child when he was married to Toni Erickson(female) so there is another confusing part of this story...did he have children of his own when this happened? ah so he does have a daughter and hopefully will loose custody of her if she is of an age where that matters.least he is gonna rot in jail for the next 15 or so years

So are the teachers there to nurture and care for the children or to cuddle and protect a child molester? I believe they made their preference crystal clear and I'd be the same as some described at the end of the Blaze story. If the teachers are fired? Well..I'd keep my kid in the school and see how things went. If not? Well, in my personal opinion, I'd look upon everyone that is supporting this man..especially after conviction...as suspect of the same thing HE is by their choice of association.

Those who would protect a sick child molester are no BETTER than the molester and have *NO* business..EVER...to be alone, let alone holding authority over young children.

The teachers apparently don't realize that the company you keep does say a great deal about you. They didn't choose him as a co-worker...and I can't fault them at that stage. They DID choose to ally with him after knowing the horrible crime he'd committed though...and if they aren't molesters and pedo's themselves? Their judgement is *SO* questionable, I'd pull my kid out of the district, not just a school, if they aren't dismissed to the last worthless one of them.

* I REALLY REALLY hate baby rapers..if someone hadn't noticed. Three different women I'm related to were victims of it as kids. I have NO forgiveness anywhere in my being for one and the only TRUE cure for raping kids is death. (Just a shame we can't execute them...it would only encourage them to add murder of a witness to molestation at the time they do it)

eagnews.org... ah so even the anonmoyous person who sent in the photos was a bastard about it and not only sent them to the district but uploaded them to a frigging porn site......this might be the thing that finnally looses me all my faith in humanity once and for all i want off this rock.....

he discovery The Janczewskis have been through a lot over the past year. In October 2012, Lori Janczewski was diagnosed with cancer. Days later they received more heartbreaking news. “Four days after my wife was diagnosed, a state trooper came out to our house and we found out our son was molested,” said Janczewski, who is also fighting his own battle with Multiple Sclerosis. “Somebody sent an anonymous email with pictures of my son to the board of education and the superintendent.” The email and pictures proved Erickson “was a predator and he groomed our son to molest him,” he said. Someone also posted the pictures online. “They never found out who sent the emails and brought it to the surface,” Janczewski said. “On the one hand, we’re very appreciative … but on the other hand, we’re angry. Why didn’t they come forward sooner? Why did they put the pictures on a porn site?” Yet despite the horrible news, the family finally had an explanation for their son’s troublesome behavior. Their son had grown increasingly distant from the once close-knit family through his early teens, as Erickson, his middle school math teacher, manipulated the young boy into a twisted relationship that lasted from Aug. 2006 to Aug. 2009. The victim frequently lashed out at his father and the tension tore their family apart.

and the convicted pedophile used to run the teachers union.......well that might explain alot perhaps he knows where all the dirt is and "where all the bodies are buried" so to speak

The rapist, the middle school math teacher, Mr. Neal Erickson, was a former President of The Michigan Educational Association. The Michigan teachers union. Which explains why the national media will not highlight, or go near this story.

Why are they defending this man? Why go through all this trouble to protect a teacher that doesn't care about his students or his profession. He plead guilty to having sex with a god damn child! A &%*^ING CHURCH BAILS HIM OUT!?!?!?!?!

This guy used his religious beliefs to manipulate those around him into protecting him. Probably blamed demons or Obama.

Ok, so someone had pictures? Again, how the hell can those teachers defend him?
And good lord, who took them? Why did they wait so long?

This story is just wrong on so many levels. I really hope the inmates make his life a living hell. If he lives that long.

What does this have to do with gay rights? How can you even make that connection? This is a group of horribly misguided people retaliating for a pedophile that was put in jail.

If this was a male teacher and a female student would you assume the cause was straight marriage? No? Then how can you make the gay rights connection here?

Yes, there are sick people in the world that want to do all sorts of sick things. There are also good people that want to be able to do things that are perfectly legal, but are prevented from doing so by ignorant people who like to control others. They are completely separate issues and to try and lump them all in to one is not only intellectually dishonest, but its rude and offensive as well.

This is what you get when you allow the gay rights to have center stage and get their way, now it's just a nudge for other sexual perversions to want their rights too. There's a pedophile somewhere wanting to marry kids, teach kids at kindergarden the pedo lifestyle, be able to adopt children as a pedo etc....

Oh yeah, it's all those evil gays, paving the way for the pedos.

Look, just stop being ridiculous. I'm sure that's a really tall order for you-- but please just stop.

He was a nice gay man who had consensual sex with a Junior high-schooler many times. His fellow teachers liked him and stood up for him when it came out at trial. The teachers obviously showed a lack of moral clarity and were more concerned with their friend getting a lighter sentence. Maybe they have also had sex with Junior High students and feel its not "That bad" as long as the student consents. This in a town of 650 people in Michigan. These teachers and the school administrator are moral relativists, and no doubt, politically left of the middle. It's all a big gray area i guess to them. He was such a well dressed and nice man....and it only happened with this one kid right?

Sad...

Wow ... just wow.

For the record, shame on you and shame on the biggots that starred this post. Now it's time to debunk those claims:

1. The LGBT community has publically renounced NAMBLA and other pro-pedophilia organizations on several occassions.

2. While you're thumping your bible as if a magic god will come out and grant you three wishes, the rest of us are living in the real world. The truth of the matter is that more than likely, the other teachers were defending their friend ... as many people do when their kid/spouse/friend/parent admits to or is sentenced for a crime. "That's not like him! He'd never do a thing like that!" It's more denial/disbelief than some militant group of child rapists. Furthermore, the torching of the home and garage was simply reactionary. They may have thought they were going to lose their jobs and took action. Was it the right action to take? No ... it was reactionary.

3. I would like to remind you that gays are not responsible for pedos, rapists, natural disasters, 9/11, murder, gay recruitment, or any other weird things your feeble little christian minds invent.

Good day, Sir.

With all due respect, I don't think those two issues are related. There are straight pedos too. And not all are men. But I'm sure you know of this.
I believe the criminals here are the ones that are attracted to little children. I don't know where you got the connection with gay marriage, where two dudes of age, committing to one another, it doesn't sound like a door opening to paedophilia to me.

It doesn't matter. what do I know anyway? I'm just a kid.

the police claim they dont know who sent them the images (which in this day and age is probably bs) but they were evidently uploaded to a porn site(kid was a minor so kiddie porn so hopefully the porn site will turn the animal in who uploaded it) and also sent to the district and police that is how they found out about the abuse that happened for 3 years while no one said anything about it.family gets their kid molested then gets cancer and scoliosis(mom and dad separately) then some nut job burns down their house? and they have to listen to animals defending the man who raped their child.

my theory is as the pedophile was the former head of the teachers union(how the hell does a pedo get that job?!?!?!!?!?!?)and perhaps people are supporting him out of fear because he may know where "all the bodies are buried" so to speak, implying he has dirt on them too. and how did his wife not know if they have been married long and evidently have a child together the fact that people try to make this seem like its just "homophobic small town" for the reason people care is astounding hes married with a kid that means he is least bi not gay. i think there is no way the wife didnt know about this either

the people in the article (fellow teachers) are the ones who originally aired the "its a gay issue" meaning that they said people only care because hes gay and molested a male student where as if it was a female student most people wouldn't care evidently(shows u the scary thought process of the teachers at this school)

to further clarify i dont think this teacher is gay hes bi as he is married with a wife and daughter(unless invetro was used) he fathered a child and slept with a woman to do it so for the teachers to claim its just prejudice because he is gay holds no water as hes not actually gay (as evidenced by his daughter)

dont get me wrong im sure other members will pull out the all pedos are gay card (which is not true) but it was the fellow teachers that originally made it a gay rights issue (not sure thats the right term)

Well who knows why they spoke out against the sentence, but I suspect it could be because they're teachers, like my father, uncle in the end, aunt, etc, and that as teachers, they are educated, and working for people because they have hearts and missions, like most teachers a calling, and care, and really don't think that kind of harsh sentence belongs to first time offenders and in fact, they probably as I do, think only a savagely brutal murderer, not manslaughter, not most murders, but a sick twisted one, should be getting that kind of sentence.

They probably feel 5-7 years, with probation after 1/3 sentence a weekly probation meetings for the rest and maybe a bracelet would be more civilized.

In fact, the only people I believe should be in prison are repeat rapists, murders or public politicians, judges and elite who break their oath to the people.

The rest could be dealt with under some term of house arrest, bracelets, counseling and monitoring.

This is sickening mind set.

Now as for whether I believe its OK for what he did, NADA. I wouldn't blame the parents if in the heat of the moment of finding it out, they grabbed their gun and ended his life. That is the heat of the moment, understandable and human thing that can happen.

I would never send such a parent to jail, but would have counseling and probation for them.

These types of sentences, that US is fobbing off on people are amongst the worst in the world. Mexican jails are looking better.

His fellow teacher defenders made the claim and used the gay aspect in their letters defending the pedophile to the court.
I did not introduce the subject, it is right there in the story.
You sound like an apologist, go attack someone else who cares if your precious gay rights image was tarnished here.
